Chapter 499

“That's right, Ms. Jefferson. This is no joke. With thousands of degrees Celsius inside, our body willturn into ashes in no time.”

Upon hearing that, Bailey raised her brow and reached out to pry open Raiden's hand.

“Don't worry. The emerald seal itself has heat absorption and dissipation function. Thus, thetemperature inside will not be higher than thirty degrees.”

With that, she reached her hand inside.

Everyone held their breaths the moment she did that.

There was only one thought in their mind—they would believe the emerald was real if Bailey withdrewher arm totally unscathed.

Miracles constantly happened in this world, and now they witnessed a true one.

Bailey, playing with the red emerald she had taken out, uttered slowly, “My master is GrandmasterWietse, who has a knack for antique appraisal. Believe it or not, none in this world can identify theauthenticity of this ancient emerald beside me.”

The scene immediately plunged into pin-drop silence.

It was not because Bailey had withdrawn her arm unscathed but the mention of her master,Grandmaster Wietse.

Wietse was a grandmaster in antique appraisal; even a thousand experts were no match for him.

He had mastered all the techniques and tricks in antique appraisal and had never made a wrongappraisal of an ancient relic.

Naturally, those were not of significance. The most important thing was Wietse had only taken in onedisciple—Vespera—the legendary antique appraiser.

“My goodness! What does this woman mean? She just said Grandmaster Wietse is her master. How isthat possible? We all know that Grandmaster Wietse had only taken in one disciple. How could it beher?”

“Yeah. Grandmaster Wietse's disciple is supposed to be Vespera. How could it be Bailey?”

“Hah! You still don't get it, huh? Obviously, Bailey is Vespera, the real Vespera.”

“Um, maybe you're right.”

While others were having a heated discussion, Lina stared at Bailey in disbelief and stammered, “A-Areyou really Vespera?”

As soon as her words fell, everyone realized that something was off. It seems this woman is really animpostor.

“D*mn! We've been fooled by her!”

“I feel a slap in the face now. How could I worship her like an idiot before? I even thought there wasfinally someone as good as Bailey now. In the end, Bailey's position is still unshakable.”

“Lina, why are you impersonating Master Vespera?”

“Lina, why did you lie to us?”

Meanwhile, Raiden narrowed his eyes at Bailey. Although he had already anticipated that the womanbefore her was Vespera, he was still shocked by the truth. Oh my, how can I let go of her? I've falleninto her trap of love, and there's no way for me to break free from it.

He would inevitably fall for her; none of the men with good taste could escape it.

“Bailey, you're—”

Before Raiden could finish his words, a commotion erupted in the scene again. Everyone wasdesperate to know whether Bailey was Vespera.

Bailey flashed Lina a smile as she said casually, “Regarding this question, I think it's more appropriatefor you guys to ask Ms. Young. She seems not satisfied with the outcome.”

Everyone turned to look in Lina's direction.

“Lina, be honest with us. Are you impersonating Vespera?”

“If you were Vespera, how could you mistake a replica for an emerald seal?”

“Lina, no matter what, you must give us an explanation today or prove to us that you're Vespera.Otherwise, don't you ever think of leaving the museum today.”

Colors drained from Lina's face when she heard that. Despair crept into her eyes.

She glared at Bailey, gnashing her teeth in anger. D*rn it! So this woman... this woman is Vespera! Howridiculous! Oh God, how can you pull such a joke on me and make me a fool?

Lina hated Bailey so much.

She could accept anyone in the scene as Vespera but definitely not Bailey, the person she wanted tooverthrow the most.

“This woman is an impostor.”

Lydia's voice suddenly rang out in the crowd. She walked to the stage with a vase and gritted her teethin a fury. “This is a porcelain vase Mrs. Carter bought with tens of millions from the auction. Linavouched that it was real. But after the Xanthos family's expert antique appraisers authenticated it, theyall agreed it was actually an exquisite replica.”

After saying that, she stuffed the vase into Lina's arms and added, “Mrs. Carter bought this vasebecause you vouched for it. According to the rules, you shall bear all the collector's losses if there's afake antique. In short, please compensate for it.”

Lina's pupils constricted at once.

In the past, she had been fearless by taking advantage of her identity as Vespera.

She thought the collectors who looked for her to perform an appraisal would not seek a secondappraiser. Little did she expect that Freya would ask another appraiser to perform a second appraisal.D*mn! Tens of millions is a hefty sum of money. Even if I lost my fortune, there's no way I can afford it.

With that thought in mind, Lina turned her sharp gaze on Lydia. A vicious look fleeted across her eyes.B*tch, I'll remember you for putting me in this situation I'm in today. I'll make you pay for what you'vedone to me!

Seeing the woman glare at her silently, Lydia couldn't help but snicker. “Don't you have anything tosay? Lina, you're nothing but trash. Do you actually think you can become Vespera? In your dream! Now that your identity has been exposed, I'd like to see how you're going to stay in this society.” novelbin

Lina leaped up from her chair and snarled, “Bailey is Vespera? Says who? She resents me for stealingher limelight. As I see it, she's the one impersonating.”

Bailey shook her head upon hearing that, laughing. This crazy dog has lost her rational and is nowtrying to bite back.

“If I'm not Vespera, who is then? Could it be you, Ms. Young? You can't even authenticate a porcelainvase. How dare you claim yourself as the disciple of Grandmaster Wietse!”

Lina bit her lips hard and uttered through clenched teeth, “Well, everyone makes mistakes.”

“Is that so?” A deep and magnetic voice rang out from the east just then.

Everyone turned in the direction of the voice and saw Zeke walking toward them with several people

behind him.

“Ms. Young, I don't think you only made one mistake. Almost all the antiques you recommended to thecollectors during this period of time were exquisite replicas.”

“Vespera, no, Lina, you've got to compensate me. You made me spend tens of millions to buy a bunchof junk. I'll sue you!”

The people Zeke brought over rushed toward Lina indignantly.

Bailey didn't pay much attention to them and shifted her gaze to Zeke. Her gaze gradually softened.

She only ordered Lydia to prepare the fake porcelain vase and did not expect Zeke to bring all thevictims over.

Judging from that, she could tell the man already knew her true identity. Is he doting on me?
