Chapter 464

Juliana seemed to have heaved a sigh of relief. In a very soft voice, she muttered, “That's good to hear.Otherwise, the world will go topsy-turvy if the disciple becomes the sister-in-law.”

“What are you muttering about?”

“Huh? Nothing, Master. You can't become Zeke's younger sister. Otherwise, it will be the end of theworld.”

Bailey was at a loss for words.

The buzzing sound of an engine was heard in the distance. It was the private jet getting ready to takeoff.

Two bodyguards in black approached them and urged Juliana to hurry. They wanted her to board thejet quickly.

Bailey reached out to pat Juliana's shoulder. “Remember what I told you. Your journey onward is long. You're the only one who can protect yourself.”

Juliana did not say anything.

A look of sadness flashed across Bailey's face as she watched the private jet hover in the air for awhile before flying into the clouds.

I'm destined to be stuck in Hallsbay. But there's still so much to see in the world. It's good that Julianawill be exploring it on my behalf. novelbin

At Century Hotel, the engagement party between the children of the Shurmer and the Gourd familieswas proceeding as scheduled.

Standing in the corner, Zayron pointed to the center of the stage before turning to Maxton and asked,“Dummy, are you willing to let the woman become our aunt?”

Maxton followed the direction of his brother's finger, and his gaze landed on Shirley. Then, he shook hishead earnestly. “A phony woman like her is an eyesore. There's no way I'm willing to let her becomemy aunt. Is she even qualified to be my aunt?”

Once those words fell from his lips, he tilted his head to look at Zayron. With sparkling eyes, he asked,“Are you planning to create a commotion?”

A mischievous smile played about Zayron's lips. At the same time, a cunning glint flashed across hiseyes.

“The engagement ceremony will start in twenty minutes. If we don't want her to become our aunt, wemust think of a way to ruin this engagement party.”

Maxton looked at him with excitement.

Are we going to wreak havoc? I'm so in!

“What are you going to do?” he asked.

Zayron leaned in and whispered in his ears.

Upon hearing his plans, Maxton stared at him with shock. “W-Will it be okay? If we're not careful, thewhole hotel might be destroyed.”

“What are you afraid of? The hotel is a property of Luther Group. The public will only think of us aswastrels if it's destroyed. We won't be hurt. As of now, the most important thing is to save our uncle.”

Maxton gritted his teeth. With much determination, he nodded in agreement.

Fifteen minutes later, the emcee announced that the engagement ceremony had officially begun.

The guests stopped their conversations and proceeded to circle around the stage.

The first person to appear on stage was an elder from the family of the groom-to-be.

Steven stood on the stage and gave a short speech of pleasantries. Then, as the groom-to-be's father,he gave the couple his blessing.

A round of applause resounded through the hall.

At that moment, a speaker inside the banquet hall sounded all of a sudden.

“This is an emergency. I repeat, this is an emergency. There's a fire on the third floor of the hotel. Thefire is raging and starting to spread rapidly to the upper floors. All guests on every floor are requestedto stop their activities at once and leave using the emergency exit quickly.”

Three seconds of silence passed in the banquet hall. Then, chaos erupted.

Those who were near the floor-to-length windows quickly peered outside. Sure enough, they were ableto see the raging fire on the third floor. Licks of flame burst out of the windows. It was both spectacularand terrifying.

“Oh my goodness! It's true. There's a fire. Look at it. It will only take a few minutes before it spreads tothe sixth floor.”

“That's right. What a huge fire! Everyone, let's leave now. Quick!”

“Let's stop the engagement ceremony today. Don't just stand here. Move fast. Save your lives!”

All of a sudden, everyone inside the banquet hall panicked and ran toward the emergency exit.

Shirley was resentful beyond words.

It took a lot of effort to force Zeke to agree to hold our engagement party. Many guests are here now.The ceremony will be completed as soon as we exchange the engagement rings. But why is thishappening to me?

“Shirley, let's leave this place quickly,” Genevieve, her mother, urged.

Pursing her lips, Shirley walked forward and grabbed Zeke, who was trying to evacuate the guests.Hastily, she said, “Zeke, the fire hasn't spread up here yet. We're on the sixth floor, so we won't getburned to death so soon. Only a few steps are left for the ceremony. Let's just skip the others. Whydon't we go on the stage and exchange the rings?”

Zeke's face darkened. He glanced at her coldly and reprimanded, “Is this engagement party moreimportant than human lives?”

Shirley wanted to say “yes,” but his cold and emotionless eyes deterred her from doing so.

Genevieve noticed that her future son-in-law was getting angry. Thus, she quickly grabbed herdaughter's arm and said, “Shirley, don't be crazy. The engagement party can be held again later, butwe're doomed if we don't get out of here alive. Be a good girl. Don't make things difficult for Zeke. Heneeds to evacuate all the guests, so stop distracting him.”

With tears in her eyes, Shirley looked at Genevieve and complained sadly, “Mom, it took me so mucheffort to get him to agree with the engagement. I hate that something like this comes up. I hate it!”

Not knowing how to comfort Shirley, Genevieve sighed. There was nothing she could do other thangrab her daughter's arm to stop her from pestering Zeke.

At that moment, Zoey walked over from the side. She reached out to pull Shirley's other arm and saidin a low voice, “You still have time. There's no need to complete the engagement today. I receivednews that Juliana had returned to her home country with the Hoffman family. No one will cling to Zekeanymore. What are you still afraid of?”

“That b*tch left?” Shirley asked with slight astonishment.
