He did not even spare Micah a glance but turned toward Daniel instead and asked in a deep voice,“What did I tell you? Physical punishment is not allowed to be used on my sister. Are you deaf orsomething? Or are you sick of living and want me to kill you?”
Daniel was so terrified that his knees almost buckled. He had to support himself against the wall next tohim to prevent himself from falling down.
“Umm... Mr. Lewitt, the branch's Prudent Hall is under the management of the headquarters. As such,the people managing the hall were also sent there by the headquarters. I have already informed them,but they insisted that the rules have to be followed. There's nothing I can do.”
When Holden heard that, he swung a hard punch at Daniel, causing the latter to stagger backward.

Micah pressed his lips into a thin line and did not reply.

Seeing how Micah remained silent, Holden raised his fist and was about to give the man a punch whenthe emergency room door suddenly opened, and a middle-aged female doctor walked out.
Micah pushed Holden away and hurried toward the door. With a crease between his brows, he asked,“How is she? Is her life in danger?”
The doctor nodded and replied, “Mr. Neyman, although Ms. Shannon had sustained serious injuries,they are not life-threatening, so please don't worry. But...”
The doctor found her heart aching slightly, and a hint of pity flashed across her eyes as she spoke.
What exactly had that woman gone through? Not only had she lost one arm, but she also...

The doctor replied in a hoarse voice, “Ms. Shannon had undergone an operation previously to removeher womb. Judging by the condition of her wound, it was likely to have happened three years ago.”
A look of disbelief appeared on Micah's handsome face. He stumbled a few steps backward and onlymanaged to steady himself after bumping into Holden, who was behind him.
That piece of information was an extremely huge blow to him.
Three years ago. That's when Eugene got into that car accident. She must have been in such despair,thinking that I had caused Eugene's death. As such, she had chosen to remove her womb after losingthe child. How disappointed and heartbroken does a woman have to be for her to do such a cruel thingto herself?
Micah stared at the door to the emergency room with a pained expression as his body trembleduncontrollably.
Holden was also frozen in shock. After he regained his senses, his feelings of disbelief turned into pityand heartache.
The man reached out and pushed Micah away from him before entering the emergency room. Whilewalking, he said to Micah, “Don't let me see you in the next few days. I might not be able to control myurge to kill you.”
When Micah heard that, he staggered backward until he hit the wall.
Finally, his legs gave way, and he slumped to the ground.
Her womb is gone. How could she have removed her womb? We would never be able to have childrentogether ever again.
Micah covered his eyes with his hands, and a moment later, tears began flowing out through thespaces between his fingers while the man's agonized wails reverberated through the empty corridor.
