Chapter 400

Her eyes were filled with an abominable hatred.

Seeing that the dinner is about to begin, what more can I do other than clench my jaw in fury? No! Ican't miss such a good opportunity. I must utilize it effectively. Since that b*tch Juliana has already laidher hands on Zeke, I'll take advantage of the situation and take her place. This marriage will be set ifeveryone believes that Zeke has touched me.

At that thought, she closed the door of the room behind her and quickly walked over to the couch.

She swiftly removed her clothes and slipped into the arms of the sleeping man.

Hmm... I'll wait for a while. After another ten minutes, if the guests above still don't see us, they willsurely come down to look for us. If I cause a fuss, Zeke will have no choice but to admit it.

Juliana stumbled all the way to the basement and got into the car.

“Find me a hotel. I want to rest for the night.”

“Understood.”

After tonight, I will be returning to the Hoffman family, and Zeke will be nothing more than a passerby inmy life. I've given him my most precious thing. I suppose it counts as fulfilling my feelings for him.

...

A quarter of an hour later, Waverly noticed that Zeke and Shirley had not made their way upstairs, and

seeing as the dinner was about to start, she prepared to go to the room on the third floor to have alook.

Just then, Steven and Richard approached her.

“The two of them haven't come up yet?” Richard asked.

Waverly flashed him a faint smile. “Maybe they're talking about something. I'll go down now and have alook. Let them come up, show their faces, and attend this dinner before anything else.”

Richard mulled over it for a while and replied, “I'll go with you. I happen to have some questions to askZeke. I want to know his attitude toward this marriage.”

“Sure. Let's go down together.”

Several people headed toward the entrance of the banquet hall.

Zoey also planned to follow them to see what was going on out of curiosity.

Just then, the phone in her hand buzzed suddenly, and when she looked down, she found that it was atext message from Shirley: Zozo, I slept with your brother, and we're in the room. Can you do me afavor by guiding some relatives and friends to the third floor to witness the scene of me lying with him? That way, your brother will compromise and agree to this marriage, and you don't have to worry abouthim marrying that b*tch Juliana and making you feel disgusted.

A hint of confusion flashed across Zoey's eyes.

Zeke slept with Shirley? He really did that? Gosh! How is that possible?

She did not bother giving it much thought due to the urgency of the situation for she had to lead somepeople to the third floor.

Indeed, I can't accept my brother marrying that b*tch Juliana, so I can only help Shirley to get what shewants.

She texted back: Okay. I'll send someone to spread the news that you and my brother are having anintense fight in the room immediately and attract some relatives and friends to have a look.

...

After Steven and Waverly got out of the elevator with Richard, they headed straight to Room 302.

The door was closed, but not locked.

Waverly knocked several times, and when there was no response, she instinctively reached out to twistthe doorknob.

The door opened with a click.

When she saw the clothes strewn all over the floor through the dim light, her face clouded over.

Following behind her, Steven and Richard took in the scene as well, both of them looking at it withconfused expressions.

“W-What's going on?”

Richard could not even speak clearly.

Any father would be furious when they saw their daughter's innocence being tarnished.

“Steven, Waverly, this... You must give me a reasonable explanation. How could this happen when thetwo of them aren't even engaged?”

After getting over the initial shock, Waverly returned to her usual calm composure and said with asmile, “It'll happen sooner or later. Since it came earlier, it's still considered a happy event.”

While they were talking, a series of rapid footsteps echoed in the corridor.

Several elders of the Shurmer and Gourd families hurried over.

“What's going on? Why haven't the two youngsters shown up yet? Did something happen?”

The speaker was an elderly man with a full head of white hair, who appeared to be of significantseniority within the family.

Waverly quickly stood in front of those people with a smile and said to the old man, “Uncle, it's notconvenient for the two youngsters to meet anyone now. Why don't you all return to the banquet hall andwait.”

After saying that, she turned and shot her husband a glance, signaling him to steer the relatives and

friends away immediately. novelbin

Steven exchanged glances with Richard, and they began ushering the group toward the elevator.

Suddenly, there was a loud thud, followed by a woman's scream.

“Ah! It hurts!”

...

Waverly took one look at everyone before opening the door and walking in.

Everyone else also wanted to follow after her but was stopped by Steven and Richard.

“Uh... We are all adults, so I'm sure you've all guessed what happened inside. Zeke and Shirley reallycan't meet anyone right now. If you just barge in like this, you'll only make the situation moreembarrassing.”

Everyone was rendered speechless.

Waverly reached toward the wall and turned on several dim lights in the room.

When she turned her head, she saw Shirley sprawled on the ground, sobbing while clutching her arm.The earlier thud was her falling off the couch.

She hurriedly went up, took off her trench coat, and draped it over the girl.
