Zoey's face turned pale at that instant. She widened her eyes at the screen and couldn't help steppingbackward.
A thought flashed across her mind.
She forced herself to deny that thought.

A staff member standing next to her noticed she was near the edge of the steps, so he immediatelyreached out to grab her.
However, Zoey was not in the mood for this. She shook off the staff member and looked at Artemis witha teary gaze. Her voice trembled as she said, “You... You did not hold this press conference toannounce our relationship.”
Artemis' lips curved upward, but his expression had no warm emotions. Instead, the look in his eyesturned cold as he said, “To be exact, I am about to announce my relationship, but you're not involved init.”
His words were like a bolt of lightning striking across the room, shocking everyone.
Zoey's legs gave out beneath her, and she slumped to the ground.
Then, camera lights started flashing wildly again in the room.
It was breaking news for the world that the Shurmer family's daughter was denied the chance to marrysomeone from a noble family.

She hated Bailey so much.

Someone kicked open the door to the press room from outside.
Everyone turned around to look at the door, and they saw a young man in a white suit making hisentrance.
“That's Zeke Shurmer, the head of the Shurmer family.”

Artemis narrowed his eyes at Zeke, carrying Zoey in his arms. A hint of complicated emotions surgedwithin his heart.
She must be watching this conference through the live broadcast. I wonder if she will start overthinkingafter hearing what Zeke said.
“Mr. Shurmer, since you're here, please take your sister with you. I have never loved her, and I hopeshe will gain some self-respect after this and stop pestering men who don't belong to her.”
Artemis then started walking toward the door.
Seeing that the main star of the conference was about to leave the venue, the reporters immediatelyrushed to Artemis.
