Chapter 342

Indeed, it's sufficiently sickening. Regretfully, she's destined to be disappointed.

“Really? Sorry, but I'm not the person who married you. Instead, it was a random beggar I ordered mymen to find from the streets. I had him go to the Security Agency and change his name, so he endedup with the same name as me.”

At once, Rhonda's pupils constricted.

The smile on her face froze at that very same instant.

Finally, fear showed in her eyes.

Gaping at Artemis in disbelief, she countered in a quivering voice, “No, that's impossible. It'simpossible! I'm your wife, the wife of Artemis Luther. Back when we registered our marriage, it waseven the person in charge of City Hall who handled things personally. You're lying to me, right? You'rebluffing, aren't you, Artemis?”

Artemis snorted coldly, a trace of scorn and disgust flashing across his eyes.

He threw her on the ground abruptly before snagging a few pieces of tissue from the tissue box at theside and wiping his palms unceasingly.

Meanwhile, Bailey sighed softly and murmured, “She's not in her right mind anymore. Have her sent tothe mental institution.”

Reaching out, Artemis hugged her around the waist. “Honey, sending her to the mental institution is too

light a punishment for her. I think we should hand her to the beggar to be his wife. The best fate for heris to continue the family line for her husband. What do you think?”

At that, the corners of Bailey's mouth twitched violently.

I've long since known that he's cold and ruthless. Today, I've witnessed it at long last. Well, that'sindeed the most severe punishment for her.

“Okay. I'll leave it to you.”

Having said that, she whirled around and headed out.

In the past, no matter how much she provoked me, I'd always stop without taking things too far inconsideration of the blood ties between us. But now, after learning that I'm likely not a descendant ofthe Jefferson family, I no longer have a reason to spare this woman. After all, she has nothing to dowith me.

“One day, sooner or later, Bailey, you'll rot in hell!”

Rhonda's malevolent curse rang out behind her.

Nonetheless, Bailey merely continued walking. Slowly, a devilish smile curved her lips.

“Really? Too bad, but you won't be able to witness it, for you'll die way before me. Enjoy the love of thatbeggar husband of yours. As a woman, you should carry on the family line for your husband aftermarriage. I'll be waiting for the good news of your pregnancy, Rhonda.”

“I'll haunt you even in death, Bailey!”

Curses of a similar nature drifted into the air endlessly.

In the CEO's office at Saunders Group, Lionel reclined in his swivel chair with a newspaper in hand.

It was clear as day that he had made the headlines.

The title was also exceedingly eye-catching, reading: The mysterious sugar daddy of the daughter ofthe Saunders family is Lionel Gezmond of LG Corporation.

As he stared at the picture on the front page of the newspaper, his eyes narrowed a fraction.

At that precise moment, his assistant pushed open the door and came in.

“I've already found out the identity of the person who leaked the news and photo to the media, Mr.Gezmond.”

“Who was it?”

“Rose, a celebrity under LG Corporation. She once won the Oscars for three consecutive years.Besides, she's good friends with Mrs. Gezmond and secretly met up with her a few times in the pastfew days.”

Bam!

Lionel slammed the newspaper in his hand onto the desk hard.

“What did you just say? Repeat that again.”

His assistant was promptly taken aback.

He was a perceptive individual, so he instantly surmised that his words weren't appropriate uponseeing that his employer had flown off his handle. Quickly changing his tune, he said, “It was Rose, acelebrity under LG Corporation. She hates Bailey but can't do anything to her, so she can onlysabotage those around Bailey.”

Calming down slightly, Lionel replied in a placid voice, “Got it. You're dismissed.”

His assistant went silent for a moment before venturing, “The rumors out there are growing in intensity.Shouldn't you host a press conference to clarify things?”

Lionel said nothing, waving a dismissive hand to shoo him away.

After sitting on the swivel chair for a while, he picked up his car key from the desk and left the CEO'soffice.

Leaving Saunders Group, he headed home directly.

In the garden of the Gezmond residence, Lionel was greeted by the sight of Kimberly pruning flowerswith Wendy no sooner had he walked in.

He stood at the entrance for some time, his resolve regarding the decision he had made strengthening

all the more.

“Why did you come back at this hour, Nell?” Wendy's voice drifted over from the garden, making it clearthat she had spotted him.

Striding over to the flowerbed, Lionel said to Kimberly, “Go into the house first. I've got something todiscuss with Wends.”

“Okay. I'll leave you two to talk and go see whether Sebastian is awake.”

When Kimberly had left, Lionel fixed his eyes on Wendy.

His gaze was sharp, so piercing that it could seemingly penetrate right to the depths of one's heart.

Unease swamped Wendy at his penetrating gaze. In a trembling voice, she queried, “W-Why are youlooking at me like that, Lionel? Did I do something wrong?”

Narrowing his eyes at her, Lionel enunciated, “I've already given the orders to search for Sebastian'sfather. Do have a good chat with him when he arrives in Hallsbay. If possible, I hope the three of youcan live together as a family.”

“What?” Wendy initially avoided his gaze, but she suddenly jerked her eyes up to meet his uponhearing that. “H-How could you do that? I'm your wife! How could you push me to t-that man?”

Inclining his head slightly, Lionel stated mildly, “Now that my relationship with Victoria has becomepublic knowledge, you and Sebastian can't stay by my side anymore. Otherwise, it'll bring trouble toyou both.”

With tears shimmering in her eyes, Wendy sprinted over and hugged him, sobbing, “I can only rely onyou. I don't trust anyone else except you.” novelbin

However, Lionel merely sighed softly. “Initially, you and Sebastian could've stayed by my side. But youhad the outside world know that I'm Victoria's sugar daddy, so there won't be any sense of security ifyou both stay by my side any longer.”

Shuddering violently, Wendy gaped at him with surprise etched across her features. “Y-You know that itwas my doing?”

Right after saying that, she hastily shook her head. “No, it wasn't entirely me. I admit that I was the onewho ordered someone to leak out news of Victoria having a sugar daddy, but it wasn't me who leakedyour identity. I was also used by Rose.”

Lionel remained calm and unruffled, seemingly not at all inclined to place the blame on her.

“I didn't come today to hold you accountable, so you don't have to be so apprehensive. Since all thishas come to light, so be it. It doesn't matter. I've already decided to have that man take you both awayfrom Hallsbay.”

When he had finished saying that, he reached out and pushed her away. Spinning on his heel, heheaded toward the corridor.

Wendy wanted to chase after him, but she was the one who created the mess, so she could only paythe price.

For that reason, she hadn't the cheek to go after him.

As she watched his gradually receding back, her legs went weak, and she slumped down onto thecobblestone ground.

Is this what it means by shooting myself in the foot? He initially had no intention of abandoning us, but Ifoolishly leaked news of Victoria having a sugar daddy, forcing him to send us away from Hallsbay inthe end. I was wrong! I was really wrong!

The next day, the Luther family held a press conference.

Caridee attended on behalf of the entire family.

When the various major media outlets received the invitation, they were all bewildered.

We haven't heard of any major happenings in the Luther family. Why are they having a pressconference?

The moment Caridee announced the contents of the press conference, the entire world was shaken.
