Chapter 325

Bailey cast a glance at him.

The ghost of a smile crept up her face.

He copied my codes, and yet he had the audacity to ask me to give up on this competition. What kindof twisted mentality is that? Are copycats this arrogant these days? Hah!

“If I lose, you can use me as a stepping stone to becoming today's spotlight. Just look at how I supportyou, my friend. The eighteen participants before me didn't want to become your backdrop, so Ivolunteered. So, quit yakking and ask them to get started.”

The texts on the giant screen began scrolling up rapidly again.

Halfway through the test, Jason sprang up from his seat and shouted, “There's a problem with hersource code. It's exactly the same as mine! I demand that the judges display mine side by side forcomparison.”

The initially bustling convention center immediately fell silent. novelbin

Everyone turned to look in Jason's direction, anticipating his next move.

The host approached him and asked in puzzlement, “Mr. Jason, what do you mean?”

Jason pointed at the screen onstage and said through gritted teeth, “This is the source code Isubmitted. Every set of data is exactly the same as mine. Bailey plagiarized my work.”

His words felt like a bolt of lightning to everyone present.

As the convention center was too noisy, some people couldn't hear what he had said at first.

However, now that the convention center was pin-drop silent, his accusation reverberated in theconvention center, crystal clear for everyone to hear.

The host widened his eyes at Jason for a moment before he turned to Bailey and asked, “Ms.Jefferson, do you have anything to say?”

Bailey narrowed her eyes slightly as if she was contemplating something.

“What is there for a copycat like her to say? I submitted this source code first. If any other participants'submission is similar to mine, then it's clear that they've plagiarized my work. As you know, this womanright here submitted last. She must have copied my work. We cannot let this behavior go unpunished!”

“They're really quite similar,” a participant commented.

“Yes, I think so too. But we don't know who the copycat is,” another participant chimed in.

The host thought for a moment and announced, “Now that a participant has been accused ofplagiarizing, we have to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure that it is a fair competition.Everyone, please stay calm. I will ask the technical team to display both source codes on the screen.”

Then, the host hurried off to the backstage.

The convention center went into an uproar after the host left.

Meanwhile, below the stage, Susan was sitting on Edmund's lap. Seeing that her mother was rubbingher temples onstage, she pouted and groaned, “Bad guys are trying to hurt Bay again. This is soannoying.”

Edmund patted her head and smiled. “I think it's too soon to say who's going to get hurt. Your mommyis a smart woman. She can surely turn this situation around. I think the person who's trying to hurt heris going to get real unlucky today.”

Susan blinked and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Daddy Eddy, I don't want to be your daughteranymore.”

Edmund was stunned.

“Hmm? You don't want your mommy to marry me anymore?” he asked carefully.

“No.” The little girl shook her head as a dark glint fleeted across her eyes.

She used to hope that Edmund would become her father. However, ever since Zayron told her abouttheir identities, she knew that Edmund and Bailey would not work out anymore.

Not wanting to upset Edmund, she said, “Daddy Eddy, I like you. Could you let me marry you in thefuture?”

Taken aback by her innocent remark, Edmund let out a chuckle. “I know you must be joking. If I marryyour mommy, I'm going to love and care for you, my little princess. You're going to meet your Prince

Charming in the future, Susan.”

Right then, the host's voice rang out in the convention center.

“Everyone, after communicating with our judges, we think that it is imperative that we compare bothsource codes side by side. Do the two participants consent to this?”

Of course, Jason wouldn't have a problem with that.

Bailey smiled and raised a brow. “If there is indeed plagiarism involved, what will be the consequencesthat follow?”

The host was momentarily stunned. However, after getting an affirmative nod from the organizers, heannounced in a low voice, “We will permanently ban the person involved and he or she will beforbidden from participating in all activities in our circle.”

“Okay.” Bailey snapped her fingers. “Let's begin.”

The screen onstage flickered, and it was soon divided into half to project two sets of source codes onthe screen.

Even though the audience did not understand the codes, they still had a discerning eye to spot thedifferences between the two.

The crowd went wild when they noticed that the two source codes were exactly the same.

“They're really identical.”

“That's true. Did Bailey really plagiarize Jason's work?”

“Even if she didn't, it would be impossible for her to explain herself. After all, Jason did submit hiscodes first. She will be flagged for plagiarism as her submitted codes are exactly the same as his.”

“Yes, that's right.”

“What is Bailey thinking? She could have not submitted anything if she really couldn't come up withanything. She's ruining her life by copying others' work!”

“She must have been too carried away by all the big names that she used to enjoy and wanted to comein first place in everything. Her ego has clouded her judgment.”
