Justin did not accept the wine.
He narrowed his eyes and stared at the stirred-up ripples caused by the swirling glass, fearful ofanything she offered him.
Veronique raised her brow and mocked, “Are you afraid that I'll drug you once more? Fine. I'll drinkfirst.”
At that, she withdrew her arm and wanted to take a sip.
However, Justin stopped her, snatched her glass, and emptied it in one go. Then, he adjusted his tieimpatiently. “Veronique, do you really want me to marry Scarlett? We can try conceiving another childto save Zephyr. Although there's risk in doing that, I'll stand by your side to protect both of you and notbe affected by the marriage.”
Veronique chuckled. “In that case, I'd rather take the risk. I can live without a man, but I can't livewithout my son. Justin, you should sacrifice yourself to save our son.”
At that instant, Justin felt so uncomfortable, as though there was a lump in his throat.
He did not wish to tie the knot with Scarlett because he had never loved her.
He used to compromise when he was a bachelor. Now that he was a man with a woman and son, heloathed the idea of marrying Scarlett.

He lifted his eyes, only to realize that he was the only one left in the room.
As he scanned the huge vacant room, a rueful smile crept up on his face.
Shortly after, he slumped onto the couch and fell asleep.
Soon, Veronique returned to the room with a tray of various tools.
It was an easy task for her to get sperm out of a man's body. Even though it was not an ethical act, shehad no better way to achieve a win-win situation for both of them.
Meanwhile, Zephyr obtained the key to Shelbert Condominium from Zayron and secretly performed apaternity test there.
Zayron opened the door and entered the room.
Sighing, he patted Zephyr's shoulder. “It's not a bad thing to know who your biological parents are.Take it easy. I'm sure you'll find a way to get through this. I think you should get yourself treated abroadbefore coming back to wipe out the Fletchers and get your daddy back.”
Zephyr pursed his lips and uttered, “There's still a chance I'm not Justin's son until the paternity testresult says otherwise.”
The Oscars was scheduled to take place two days later at Century Square, Hallsbay.
Bailey found the event rather boring. Hence, she tore the invitation card into two without checking itscontent and channeled all her focus on the upcoming programming competition.
Meanwhile, Dwayne entered the CEO's office in Luther Group and filed a complaint.
“Mr. Luther, it's about time you control your woman. She didn't even pay attention to the invitation card,which was fresh from the oven, and tore it apart the moment she received it.”
Artemis cocked a brow and grinned. “What a brilliant move! My woman can walk into any eventwhenever she likes. Why does she need an invitation card?”

Dwayne turned and took a few steps forward before stopping in his tracks. “By the way, the people atthe Oscars are so thoughtful. They've arranged Ms. Rose, three-time Oscar winner for Best Actress, asyour female companion of the night. Since Bailey refuses to attend, let Ms. Rose keep you company.”
Artemis shot him a cold glance and responded indifferently, “I won't go if Bailey isn't going. Pleasedecline the invitation on my behalf.”
Dwayne widened his eyes in disbelief. “You changed the event location to Hallsbay. Additionally, theOscars is naming you their guest of honor! How humiliating will it be for them if you don't plan to showup?”
“What's the big deal? It's an honor to be given a chance and be humiliated by me.”
Outside of the CEO's office, Bailey carried her laptop and left hastily.
A while ago, she had successfully cracked a series of codes which she could not make any progressdays ago. Thus, she planned to test it out on the professional devices found in the technicaldepartment.
As she made her way to the corner, she ran into someone, and the two of them stumbled backward.
Thanks to her years of experience in martial arts, she was able to gain a footing quickly and steadiedherself.
Unfortunately, the other party received the full blow of the collision impact and staggered backward. Asa consequence, she missed a step and fell on the marble floor.
“I'm sorry.” Bailey hurried over and assisted her.

At that instant, Bailey's face fell. I apologized and offered to help her up. If she doesn't appreciate that,she deserves to fall one more time.

The woman lost her footing and fell hard to the ground.

With her laptop in her arms, Bailey loomed over the blondie and gave her a once-over.
Rose? The international star who won Best Actress at the Oscars for three consecutive years? Why isshe here? Oh yes, it's because Artemis is in the office. In fact, every single woman on earth would loveto be in his presence.
“What a stupid Chanaean! Do you know who I am? How dare you knock me down and trick me? You'regoing to die an ugly death!”

Bailey narrowed her eyes at Rose and grinned sinisterly. “Repeat how you addressed me just now ifyou have guts.”
The blonde-haired actress glared at her and mocked, “Sure! Stupid Chanaean! Foolish Chanaean! Hitme if you can, come on—”
Lo and behold, Bailey went up to Rose and slapped her delicate face twice, leaving two crisp soundsresonating in the air.
Any Chanaean with a shred of humanity in them would not tolerate the humiliation of a foreigner. Rosedidn't mock me alone; she has humiliated several billions of Chanaeans!
“I'm more than capable of hitting you. So what? Do you want to stand up and bite me?”
Rose covered her face as she stared daggers at Bailey. “How dare you lay a finger on me?”
Bailey smiled coldly. “I already did! The two red marks on your face are evidence of my brazen act. Goahead and complain about me.”

Next, Rose leaped to her feet and pounced on Bailey.
Taken aback, the latter raised a brow.
I've given her a chance to snitch on me and report the incident to Ratemis. It's not my fault if shedoesn't want to seize the opportunity and do just that. I couldn't care less if she's an Oscar winnerwho's been adored by countless international entertainment tycoons. The moment she steps on mytoes, I'll make sure I kick her back!

Finally, Rose's manager and bodyguards registered what had happened.
Some went to check on her, whereas the others attacked Bailey.
Right when Bailey was about to return the favor, a figure appeared before her.
Bam! Bam! Within seconds, Ken had beaten the bodyguards to a pulp and sent them sprawling on thefloor.
Artemis strode forward and scrutinized Bailey. Frowning, he questioned, “Weren't you writing a programin the office? Why did you come out and create havoc?”
She rolled her eyes at him. “It's better you ask someone to take her to the hospital now. I couldn'tcontrol my force, so I'm afraid she's in trouble.”
