Chapter 292

Narrowing his eyes, Lionel gave Vincent the side-eye.

“You're willing to turn yourself in? Judging by your sickly appearance, I highly suspect you'll die insidethe prison. You've lived a glorious life thus far, so are you really willing to accept this miserable end?”

Vincent wore a bitter smile. “What can I do even if I'm unwilling to accept this outcome? I suppose youwon't let me go even if Vicky is imprisoned in my stead, right? Therefore, why should I drag mydaughter into this mess and ruin her life?” novelbin

Lionel laughed sinisterly and raised his brows. “Victoria may come and beg me to show you mercybefore she goes into jail. Perhaps I will really let you off the hook for the sake of our past relationship. She's still young, so she can turn over a new leaf after spending a few years in prison. However, thesame cannot be said for you. You're old and frail. Once you enter the prison, there is no chance for youto come out alive.”

Vincent coughed violently before he placed his hands on the table and pushed himself up. Then, hebowed deeply at Lionel while panting heavily. “I don't mind where I die at this advanced age. Please, have mercy and let my daughter go. I promise you that I will turn myself in.”

After saying that, he turned around, grabbed his briefcase, and took out a stack of documents with histrembling hands. “This is Saunders Group's share transfer agreement. I'm willingly offering you the fiftypercent company share in my possession. From today onward, you will be Saunders Group's majorshareholder, as well as the decision-maker of the company. I hope you'll take into consideration yourpast relationship with Vicky and stop her crazy actions.”

With that, Vincent walked unsteadily toward the door with the help of his walking stick, stumbling a few

times and nearly faceplanting on the floor.

At that sight, the old butler hastily rushed forward to support Vincent. The two of them slowly left theroom afterward.

Lionel gazed at the traffic jam outside the window with an unfathomable look gleaming in his eyes.

He stood rooted to his spot for a long while before ambling to the table and picking up the sharetransfer agreement.

The content of the agreement was genuine. Vincent had also affixed his signature at the bottom of thepage and even attached his fingerprint. That share transfer agreement was already legally effective.

Lionel understood Vincent's intention. Only by transferring Saunders Group's decision-making power tohim could Vincent render Lionel capable of stopping Victoria from continuing her crime.

Hah! It seems like this old man is quite caring and protective toward his daughter. In that case, I shalldo as he wishes by rescuing Victoria. Then...

The fall of the Gezmond family and the death of his family members was a grudge Lionel did not dareto forget, nor could he ever forget.

Meanwhile, at the lead designer's office in Luther Group, Artemis pushed the door open and enteredthe room.

He could not help but feel curious when he saw Bailey browsing through piles of references with her

brows knitted as if she had encountered a complex problem.

Is there any issue in this world that she can't resolve?

“What's the matter? Did you hit a bottleneck in your programming?”

While biting the end of her pen, Bailey flatly replied, “No. I'm figuring out a way to acquire SaundersGroup.”

Acquire Saunders Group?

Artemis was stunned. He sauntered over to her desk and leaned forward to take a look.

Scattered on the table were documents related to the acquisition process of a company.

“Why are you thinking of purchasing Saunders Group? I remember you were too lazy to even manageEmmy Boutique and handed all the responsibilities of running the business to the operations team.”

She placed down the pen in her hand and leaned back in the chair. “My discussion with Lionel fellthrough. That guy is determined to bring about the downfall of Saunders Group and send Mr. Saundersto prison. If I wish to protect Victoria, I must first safeguard Mr. Saunders, which means I'll have to saveSaunders Group.”

Artemis sighed and reached out to grab all the documents.

Bailey thought he wanted to read the papers, so she did not stop him. Unexpectedly, he turned around

and tossed them into the shredder.

“Hey! What are you doing? Are you crazy?”

She leaped over the desk in an attempt to switch off the shredder but was halted by Artemis.

“You don't have to do this anymore. Saunders Group is already in Lionel's possession, so there'snothing you can do to reverse the situation no matter how hard you try.”

Bailey glared at him and asked through gritted teeth, “Are you doubting my capabilities? Do you think Ican't win against Lionel?”

“That's not it.” Artemis stretched out his hands to hug her and let out another sigh. “I have fullconfidence in your abilities, but I have just received news about Mr. Saunders transferring all his sharesto Lionel.”

Taken aback, Bailey narrowed her eyes at him. “What did you say?

“Vincent Saunders has transferred all his shares to Lionel Gezmond. Lionel now owns half of SaundersGroup's shares, becoming the major shareholder as well as the decision-maker of the company.”

Bailey gritted her teeth and said, “Is that old man crazy? Saunders Group is the Saunders family's lasthope. Isn't it equivalent to him digging his own grave if he transfers all of his shares to Lionel?”

Artemis shook his head. “Not necessarily.”

She stared at him. “If you have something to say, then spit it out all at once. Don't leave me hanging.”

“Lionel is the only person who can stop Victoria from pursuing her insane plan now. Mr. Saundersdecided to hand over the company to Lionel because he wants the latter to protect Victoria. What youare trying to achieve here is the same, right? Despite the difference in method, you and Mr. Saundershope for the same outcome. Listen to me. Don't interfere in their matter anymore. They are all adultswho are capable of handling their own problems.”

Hearing that, Bailey slumped in his embrace like a deflated balloon and sighed. “Mr. Saunders' methodis indeed more suitable, but will Lionel agree to his request? Lionel is adamant about sending Mr.Saunders to jail, so why —”

Suddenly, she stopped talking. After contemplating briefly, she asked, “Is Mr. Saunders planning to turnhimself in and keep Victoria safe in exchange for his own life?”

“I think that is the most plausible explanation. If he wishes to save Victoria, he must sacrifice himself.”

“Then, I —”

Artemis placed a finger over her lips and shook his head. “Bay, don't pity Mr. Saunders. Why would hebe afraid of Lionel's revenge if he was truly innocent? I reckon Mr. Saunders must have donesomething terrible, and Lionel got hold of the evidence. We should let them deal with their personalgrudges themselves. None of us are qualified to intrude into this matter.”

With that, Artemis dragged Bailey along as he strode across the office and seated her on the swivelchair, not giving her any time to process her thoughts or say a word. “Try to write a program. I'll see if Ican provide you with any guidance.”

Bailey smiled in resignation. She was well aware of Artemis' prowess in computer skills. Perhaps hemight just be able to help her out.

“By the way, now that Cadence has been eliminated, when do you plan to expose Rhonda's pretenseso that she can receive the punishment she deserves?”

“There's no need to rush,” he replied tersely.

I'll reveal the whole truth when Rhonda prepares to go on the run with the two kids. I'll wait until then togive her this huge surprise.

Inside the ward of the medical base, Zayron rested his hands on his sister's shoulders and seated heron the couch.

“Susan, there's something I need to tell you so that you can be mentally prepared.”

Susan blinked and beamed at Zayron. “Just tell me what you have to say. Why do you have to soundso serious?”

Zayron took a deep breath and uttered sulkily, “We made a mistake when finding out our biologicalfather. That b*stard, Simon, is not our father.”

The smile on Susan's face stiffened. “Zayron, you're joking, right? But your joke isn't funny at all. I'veyet to have my fun as the Luther family's little princess. I'm not willing to give up this noble status yet!”
