Zoey looked down and saw the headlines in the newspaper. The glaring word, “miscarriage,”immediately entered her sight.
Rhonda had a miscarriage? Haha! What great news!
“What do you mean, Zeke? What does Mrs. Luther having a miscarriage have to do with me?”
“Zoey.” Zeke dragged her up from the couch and demanded furiously, “Do you think you can hideanything from me? Do you think you're skilled enough to deceive me?”
Lowering her head slowly, Zoey replied in a nonchalant tone, “I don't know what you're talking about,Zeke. Rhonda's miscarriage has nothing to do with me. Don't accuse your own little sister.”
Zeke took a deep breath. Suppressing the fury within him, he said coldly, “Looks like you're going tokeep denying it. If I don't produce any proof, you won't confess, right?”
With that, he took out a piece of paper from his pocket and placed it in front of her. “Three days ago,you obtained some abortifacient developed by Shurmer Group's pharmaceutical factory under myname. Since the effects of that particular abortifacient are too severe, it hasn't been released on themarket yet. What did you need it for?”
Glancing at the retrieval form, Zoey replied with a smile, “One of my friends encountered a bottleneckwhen researching abortifacients. He asked me to obtain a prototype developed by Shurmer Group sohe could examine it. Since he was so enthusiastic, I agreed. Are you going to reprimand me so harshlyover such a minor matter?”
Zeke stared at her coldly. After a moment of silence, he chuckled lightly. “Very well. You've learned howto lie to your brother now, huh? Well done! Even if you want to go down the wrong path, as yourbrother, I cannot watch you commit these mistakes without doing anything. You refuse to confess,right? Fine! I'll go to the Luther residence and ask Artemis to give me the remnants of the abortifacient.Once I confirm that it is identical to the one developed by Shurmer Group, you'll find out what theconsequences are.”

Zoey panicked. If Artemis found out she drugged Rhonda and caused the miscarriage, she wouldnever have a chance to rise up the ranks.

I instructed a maid who I planted at the Luther residence to give Rhonda theabortifacient. Afraid that Artemis would find out that it was me, I didn't dare to buy it at a pharmacy.Hence, I had no choice but to obtain it from Shurmer Group's pharmaceutical factory. Zeke, you shouldknow how much I love Artemis. I was the one who saved him seven years ago. Why should Rhonda,that useless b*tch, be the chosen one in the end?”
Zeke closed his eyes, which hid a hint of hostility. Although he was normally very gentle, there wasnaturally more to him than that as the head of such a massive family.
“Artemis has already gotten his marriage certificate with Rhonda. So what if you made her have amiscarriage? Artemis doesn't love you, so what's the point of forcing him to?”
“I don't care.” Zoey hugged him tightly and cried through tears, “I only want him! I refuse to marry
anyone but him. Mr. Luther likes me too. When it comes to family background, appearance, andintellect, how can Rhonda even compare to me? One day, I'll chase her out of the Luther family. Otherthan me, no one else is allowed to marry Artemis.”
Zeke massaged his temples. Pushing her away slightly, he warned in a cold tone, “You can only dosuch harmful things once. Don't do that again. Otherwise, don't blame me for looking past ourrelationship and punishing you harshly.”
Zoey smirked, knowing that Zeke, who had always doted on her, would not do anything to her.
She was the precious daughter of the Shurmer family, and her parents were famous. With herbackground, she should be in a position to choose any man she wanted in the world.
In a mansion in the suburbs, Cadence was leaning against the couch and reading the newspapers withnarrowed eyes.
A miscarriage? This isn't good news at all. There's something strange about this. Did Rhondaaccidentally reveal the truth, leading the Luther family to eliminate her illegitimate child secretly?

Zayron rolled his eyes. “I don't know what you and your aunt are thinking! There are so many men inthe world, but you insist on clinging to someone's fiancé. Let me think about it.”

Someone slapped the back of his head.
“What the f*ck?”
Standing behind him, Bailey looked down at him and said sternly, “Justin and Veronique's relationshipis very complicated. Don't meddle in it blindly, understand?”
Shifting her gaze to Zephyr, she continued with a smile, “Zephyr, you've never seen Justin before, soyou can't assume that he's suitable for your aunt so easily. You're still young, so you don't understandthe complex relationships between adults.”
Zayron rolled his eyes and pouted. “Isn't it very simple? Once the lights go off and the blankets are overtheir heads, even enemies can fall in love. What's there to understand? I know everything very well.”

Bailey slapped him so hard that he fell onto the keyboard.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
When Bailey walked over to open the door, she saw Veronique standing outside.
“Didn't you just get off the plane? Why are you here so fast?”
While walking in, Veronique replied with a smile, “I miss Zephyr, so I came over to visit. Has he beendoing well recently?”
“Quite well. I'll wait for you at the study.”

At the Luther residence, Rhonda was in the bedroom, sobbing in Beatrice's arms.
“It's fine. So what if the b*stard's gone? Your wedding is still continuing. After marrying him, you canhave all the children you want. I'm only confused about who gave you the abortifacient.”
Pursing her lips, Rhonda spat through gritted teeth, “It must be Bailey, that b*tch! Since she cannotstand me getting married into the Luther family and being superior to her, she resorted to such dirtytricks.”

Pulling herself out of Beatrice's arms, Rhonda turned around and looked at the former. Clenching herjaw, she asked, “Who is it? Who's targeting me? Having lived in the Luther residence for so manyyears, I don't think I have offended anyone. Why are they doing this to me?”
