“Give me the card,” Bailey seethed between her teeth, clenching her jaw.
This put a smile on Artemis' face. He gave her back the card and reminded her, “You're mine now thatyou took it, Bailey. You'd better remember that you belong only to me for the rest of your life.Understood?”
Bailey bit her lip hard. Pleased, Artemis burst out in a hearty laugh, and his melodious voice echoed inthe room. “All right. I'll stop teasing you. Tell me. Whose account did you hack this time?”
Bailey rolled her eyes and went on to tell him about Veronique.
Artemis frowned when he learned about what happened. “Do you know that the top brass will not letyou off the hook so easily? You just hacked into the country's research center's system. They'lldefinitely send professionals to track you down. It'll be bad for you once they get their hands on you.”
Bailey narrowed her eyes at him. “Are you suggesting that I should hide all my traces? Veronique willbe caught in a tight spot if that's the case. Mr. Yardley is helping her out of his goodwill. If I pull the rugfrom under his feet now, it'll be difficult for Vero to face him.”

Bailey's heart beat fast.
If a man is willing to take all your burden for you, he genuinely loves you. He's someone I can spendthe rest of my life with, but things are not as straightforward. I still have to consider Simon and Edmund.They're both Artemis' family members. I can't just dismiss their feelings and what the world thinks aboutme.
“I'll let someone manage the account so they won't trace it back to me. Don't be too nice to me,Artemis. I don't deserve it.”
After receiving Scarlett's details, Veronique spent the next few days in a dilemma without being able tocome to a decision.
She could kneel before anyone to beg that person to donate their bone marrow, but not Scarlett.
She's Justin's fiancée! What if they find out who Zephyr is? If Scarlett finds out that Zephyr's Justin's

Back at home, Bailey was leaning against the book rack in her study when she called out to Juliana,who was reclining on the couch. “I need you to do something for me. I need it done perfectly.”
Then, Bailey told Juliana how she found her drug compromised during the production phase at DykePharmaceutical.
Juliana shot up from the couch angrily. “For real? Is someone trying to mess with you again? Seriously,Master, just how many people did you offend? You can't even live a single day in peace.”
“Enough nonsense. I just found out that Zeke has arrived at Hallsbay, so find time to meet him.Remember, don't give the game away. I just want to know Zeke's attitude toward the issue. I want toknow if he's involved.”
“Okay,” Juliana promised with her eyes shimmering and smiling. “I heard Mr. Zeke from the Shurmerfamily is well-known and dashing. I've always wanted to meet him in person.”
“Just get out,” Bailey replied, waving her hand.
Then, Bailey went over to Luther Group to sort out some important documents. After that, she gotready to go to the medical base to check on Maxton, but just as she was leaving, she heard the soundof high heels coming in her direction.
She looked up instinctively, and what she saw made her jaw drop.
She is gorgeous! Carrying an air of classiness, the woman of about Bailey's age walked elegantlytoward her, but above all else, her face was the most attractive trait.
Bailey felt she had seen that woman somewhere before, for her face was fresh in her memory. It wasjust that Bailey could not recall where she met that woman.
When the young woman walked past her, Bailey could feel the dignified air of her imposing presence.
Out of curiosity, Bailey slowed down and looked back.
The head of the secretary department had just come out of the office to greet that woman. “Ms.Shurmer,” he said politely. “Mr. Luther requested that you wait at the CEO's office.”
Zoey showed a graceful smile and nodded. “Thank you. Is Artemis in the office?”
“He's in a meeting now. He'll probably be back in a few minutes. Why don't you follow me to his officefirst?”
“Sure. Thanks.”
Bailey's eyes trailed the secretary and Zoey as they entered the office.
Her eyes twitched when she realized Zoey's voice sounded familiar to her.
I heard that voice when Artemis was on a call in Shelbert Condominium. She's Zoey Shurmer, one ofthe Ten Acclaimed Socialites and also the heiress of the Shurmer family. Her brother is especiallytalented. Not only does he control the whole family, but he's also popular on the international stage.
Bailey could not help but feel jealous of Zoey.
I guess that's why Artemis treats her differently. Only a woman who commands international influencelike her is worthy of him. I'm nothing but a taboo to him.
“Ms. Jefferson, are you heading out?”
A woman's voice pulled Bailey's thoughts back.
Bailey looked up only to see the manager of the design department. “Yes. Is there anything I can do foryou?”
“I've just drafted the proposal for the product launch. Do you mind spending a few minutes goingthrough it?”
“Sure. Let's go to my office, then.”
Five minutes later, Bailey sat back in her office chair with her brows raised. “I know I gave a lot ofcriticism. I'm sorry if I sounded demanding.”
The manager shook her head. “Don't say that. I'm glad you pointed out the things I need to work on. I'mthankful for that.”
“That's good. Redo it, then. I'll give you a day to do that.”
“Sure. I'll make a move first. Thanks, Ms. Jefferson.”
Not long after the manager left, Bailey heard the sound of footsteps outside her office again and sawArtemis rushing over to his office.
Bailey smiled. She must be really important to him.
The smile on her face deepened when she heard their laughter coming from the office.
