Chapter 158

“Look at her face. Isn't it exactly that? Is there any need for us to ask any questions?”

“Fantastic acting, Ms. Rhonda. Just a second ago, you were saying that you hoped your sister wouldbe able to clear her name, but right after you found out that she was fine, your expression changed. What beautiful sisterhood you've got there. It's quite... shocking.”

“No wonder the people say that Ms. Rhonda is pretentious. Look at her demeanor. She really is theposter child for pretentiousness. Even a saint won't be able to compare to her.”

Rhonda's knees buckled, and she nearly fell off the stage.

When her good friend saw that, she quickly shot out her arms to hold Rhonda.

“Ronni, you can't give up now. Hurry up and explain to them, or else the people are going to ruin yourreputation.”

At that, Rhonda took in a deep breath to suppress the boiling resentment in her. Then, she forced thecorners of her stiff lips upward into a smile.

“You've misunderstood the situation. I was too excited, so I lost control of myself. Bailey's my ownsister, and she'll be my sister-in-law too. There's no one in the world I'd be closer to. Of course, I'mthrilled to hear that she's out of it now!”

Despite her sincere tone, no one knew how many people would actually believe in her words. novelbin

“Let's go. We're going to the police station now. Ms. Bailey's about to be acquitted, so let's hurry up and

interview her. The world has been paying much attention to news about Anonymous, so if we get toverify that she is Anonymous with her own statement, we'll surely get the hottest headlines of the year.”

“Yes, yes! Let's hurry up and curry favor with Ms. Bailey. She's the only one who will allow us to earnbig bucks. That lady's our actual cash cow.”

The reporters all rushed toward the exit, and in no time, the crowded mall turned spacious.

The people in the vicinity then turned to look at Rhonda as they began chatting away.

“Her plans have fallen through, huh? She only has herself to blame for this. She's doomed to be calleda scheming b*tch from the moment she decided to climb into Mr. Luther's bed and give birth to a sonwithout letting the Luthers know.”

“She's a daughter from the Jefferson family too, but they're worlds apart from each other. One hasmorals and keeps a low profile despite the many good things they do for the world, and the othertramples on those who are of a lower class than her. She's even looking down on everyone else justbecause she's in league with the Luther family. Pah! I don't know why she's being all proud. I'd sayshe's so useless she's not even worthy of bringing her sister the newspaper!”

“How could she have such fame if not for her sleeping with Mr. Luther? In contrast, Bailey built herfame with her own talents. All Rhonda does is seduce men. Indeed, they're completely different fromeach other.”

Rhonda was furious.

She was so furious that her entire body shook.

What she hated the most was outsiders comparing her with Bailey and them praising Bailey whilelooking down on her.

“Ronni, l-let's leave this place first,” Rhonda's good friend whispered into her ear as she held Rhonda.

Rhonda closed her eyes for a moment to tamp down the rising fury and grudge before walking downthe stairs. Then, she walked toward the doorway as the others stared at her with mocking, disdainfuleyes.

Bailey, Bailey, how I wish I could skin you alive!

In the reception room at the court, the person in charge of the court was greeting Felicity, who hadabruptly come.

“Don't worry, Mrs. Luther. We have all the evidence for Ms. Bailey's case, so the court will pass theguilty verdict soon. It's just a matter of time now, so please patiently wait a little longer.”

Felicity beamed in satisfaction. After a moment of thought, she asked, “Could you please tell me howlong she'll be locked up?”

The person in charge lowered his head and squeezed out, “This is confidential, and I won't be able totell you about it, Mrs. Luther. It's not too different from what you've heard. Luther Group has numerousteams of lawyers and a functioning legal department. You must have inquired them about this before. The final verdict won't be too different from their estimation.”

Felicity was no fool, so she understood what he meant. Thus, she changed the topic and said, “Thankyou for this. You can come to me if you need anything in the future, and I'll do my best to assist you.”

The person in charge wiped the sweat off his forehead before fearfully replying, “Thank you for yourkindness, Mrs. Luther. We're only just settling this matter according to the law. I had to rely on yourinformation too, Mrs. Luther. I wouldn't dare to claim this achievement as mine. I wouldn't.”

Ha.

Felicity sneered inwardly.

This old man's a sly fox. He knows when to trim his sails. He's afraid that he'll lose his job if he crossesthe Luther family. It seems like anything I say goes, but he has never thought about buttering up theLuther family and dragging himself into the mess. Ha!

“All right. There's nothing else now, so I'll be leaving first.”

With that said, she got to her feet.

At that, the person in charge hurriedly stood up to escort her out. “Allow me to send you off.”

Before Felicity could agree to it, someone barged into the room and hurried toward the man. In anurgent tone, the newcomer said, “S-Sir, b-bad news!”

The man shot her a glare before chiding, “Why are you panicking so badly? Calm down before youspeak. It's not as if the world is about to end in the next second.”

The female staff member had to take several deep breaths to calm her thumping heart before uttering,“There has been a turn of events in Ms. Bailey Jefferson's case. We might have to acquit her.”

Shock flashed past the person in charge's eyes, and he instinctively turned toward Felicity. When hesaw the darkened look on her face, he quickly said to the female staff member, “Wait in my office. I'llcome to you after sending Mrs. Luther off.”

“Wait in your office?” Felicity glared at the female staff member. She then gritted out, “Speak clearly. What do you mean by there's a turn of events in her case and that you have to acquit her?”

The female staff member turned to the person in charge, anxious. “I... This...”

The person in charge sighed. It was unlikely that he would be able to hide the matter from Felicity, andit was likely that Felicity would find out about the details after she left the court. Therefore, what was thepoint of trying to flee from the situation?

“Just say it here. Mrs. Luther is the plaintiff of the case. She has the right to know about the case'sprogress.”

The female staff member then lowered her head and tentatively said, “Just twenty minutes ago, theking of Eskaria posted an announcement with his own account on the overseas Chanaean forum. H-Hesaid that three years ago, Bailey operated on him as Anonymous. Back then, she had presented to himwith the relevant medical licenses.”

For a moment, Felicity's mind short-circuited. “What are you trying to say? What do you mean by sheoperated on him as Anonymous? Is she trying to pretend to be Anonymous to get out of this?”

The female staff member shuddered and steeled herself before saying, “M-Mrs. Luther, you'vemisunderstood me. I'm saying that Bailey is Anonymous—Anonymous is Bailey. They're the sameperson.”

“What?” Felicity's knees turned weak, and she fell back onto the couch. “What did you just say? Baileyis Anonymous? She's Anonymous?”

“Y-Yes. Her disciple, Juliana, has already presented the evidence to the relevant departments to provethat Bailey is Anonymous.”
