Just then, the third auction item finally took the stage.
The item was special. It was not common jewelry or treasure, nor was it an antique. It was a set of 30
books.
Keith on the stage picked up the books and showed them to the guests.
"Everyone, these 30 books are the legacy of Midwich's miracle doctor, Albus Humphrey. Dr. Humphrey
wrote down all his medical knowledge in these 30 books during his twilight years and gave them to his
son as heirlooms. But Dr. Humphrey's son faced some trouble and needed money, so he asked the
Harris family to put these 30 books up for auction."
Hearing this, the guests in the audience frowned and looked a little impatient.

Keith on stage put the books down and said, "These 30 medical books aren't being auctioned

increase of not less than fifty thousand dollars every time!"
No sooner had Keith said than Sean grabbed the auction paddle on the armrest and prepared to bid.
The guests present discussed disdainfully.
"Dr. Humphrey was famous when he was alive, but selling two million dollars for 30 books is a scam!"
"We don't need it. We're not bidding for it!"
"Whoever wants it can have it. I'm not interested!"
It seemed almost no one present was interested in these 30 medical books. That way, Sean could get it
at a low price.
Just then, a woman's voice rang suddenly.
"I'll offer two million dollars!"
The bidder was none other than the person sitting on the far right side of the first row. The head of the
Yale family, Sherleen!
Sean instantly frowned. Gabe and Zander also looked surprised.
Not only them but the other guests were also shocked by Sherleen's bid because they thought the 30
medical books were not worth two million dollars and would eventually go unsold!
However, Sherleen had made an offer that surprised everyone in the room despite having the lowest
starting price.
"I'm offering two million dollars for these 30 books that Dr. Humphrey wrote. None of you is competing
with me, right?" The head of the Yale family, Sherleen, smiled and looked back at all the guests as she
spoke.
No sooner had she finished speaking than a young woman sucking up to her.
"Mrs. Yale, listen to what you said. You offered a bid, so we won't compete with you, of course."
"Yes, yes. We don't need these books even if you give them to us. You can have them if you like them,
Mrs. Yale."
"Don't worry, Mrs. Yale. The Zepp family will never compete with the Yale family."
The guests present were full of flattery. They kept saying all sorts of nice things and flattering words,
and the head of the Yale family, Sherleen, nodded in satisfaction.
Just then, a discordant voice filled the entire auction hall.
