Chapter 1820

Sean went up to Quentin and thanked him. After all, the fundraising gala worked so well tonight, and it

was mainly because Quentin took the lead in donating and encouraging the guests.

The fundraising gala would never have raised this much money without him.

"No, Mayor Lewis... It's actually you to make this happened. It's a good thing that you're here tonight, or

I couldn't have handled it on my own," Sean said with a smile.

Quentin nodded and said, "It's okay. It's okay. It's what I'm supposed to do. The slum's governance

should have been my problem, but I put you in charge of it now. I should be the one to thank you."

"You're too kind, Mayor Lewis..." The smile on Sean's face widened.

Quentin did not hold him back on the slum's governance and provided great support to Sean, so he

deserved Sean's gratitude.

Sean did have a good impression of Quentin.

The mayor was pretty good. He was not brilliant, but at least he was responsible.

"You've got to watch out for the Walker family, the Stewart family, and the Lambert family. The three

families were humiliated tonight because of you. And their heirs are still locked up in jail. They're not

pushovers and won't take this lying down," Quentin said earnestly.

"Yes, I'll be careful..." Sean nodded again.

Then Quentin added, "And, by the way... Stop by the mayor's residence tomorrow if you have time. Wenovelbin

can discuss the slum's governance plan."

"That's what I want too. I'll come over tomorrow morning," Sean agreed without hesitation.

Then Sean said to the city defense soldiers, "Escort Mayor Lewis and Ms. Lewis back to their

residence."

"Yes!" The city defense soldiers nodded deeply.

After Mayor Lewis and Shania left, the city defense army's main camp, which had been bustling for

more than two hours, finally calmed down.

Sean sat down once he was back in his office, and Zander brought him a cup of tea.

"Commander, tonight's fundraiser turned out very well. With your action and this gala, I think the

problem of the poor will be properly solved," Zander said happily.

Zander's life before joining the army was ordinary. One could even call it poverty, so he felt deep

sympathy for the poor people with bad living conditions. He would be pleased that there was hope that

the slum issue could be dealt with.

Sean took a sip of tea, put down the cup, and said, "This is only the first step. It's a long way from

solving the slum's problem. We need to have great planning to bring goodness and prosperity to the

slum. It's not enough to give them only a better condition for living, but, we have to give them a new

standard of better life."

"Commander, you're right..." Zander nodded heavily.

Sean added, "Follow me to the slums tomorrow afternoon. We're going to bring big changes!"

The next morning, Sean went to the mayor's residence to discuss the slum's governance plan with

Mayor Quentin.
