Chapter 1242

Chapter 1242

The world of children was always simple, kind, and clear.

They were happy and satisfied as long as they had food and fun.

Sean’s gaze slowly moved across the children’s faces.

He remembered people coming to the orphanage to donate supplies.

Sean was one of the children once. He looked at the charitable people with admiration as he held the

item they donated.

Sean’s role was now reversed.

May would grow old, and the orphanage could not close down.

Sean and the rest should take over the responsibility now that they had grown up.

Then the orphanage would not have raised them for nothing.

“Here. Say cheese!”

Holding her phone, Caitlyn stood next to Sean and took a group photo with the children behind her.novelbin

Sean’s eyes lingered on Caitlyn’s phone.

It was an old smartphone. Besides that, it was shabby, and the edges of the screen were cracked.

Every girl of Caitlyn’s age had an Apple iPhone.

Caitlyn was so busy with the orphanage that she did not even have a chance to get a job.

“Sean, did you get a lot of retirement pay?”

Albert walked over slowly, his eyes tentative.

“It’s not bad.”

Sean replied casually, not interested in talking to Albert.

“How much did you get?

“How much money do you have left?”

Albert’s question was pretty straightforward.

“You can’t imagine how much money I have.”

Sean smiled, his eyes were disdainful.

He would not listen to men like Albert easily.

“Look at you. So what if they gave you a few hundred thousand dollars as retirement pay?

“What’s a few hundred thousand dollars these days? You can’t even afford a toilet in Joules Town.”

Albert spat with a sneer.

Sean ignored him and only played with the kids.

“By the way, other caring people not only donated supplies but also a lot of cash.

“Aren’t you going to do the same?”

Albert was silent for two seconds before rubbing his hands together and saying.

Albert seemed to have regarded Sean as a fool. He seized the opportunity to trick him.

However, his attitude annoyed Sean.

“Albert, that’s enough.”

May frowned and stopped Albert.

“What do you have to do with this, old hag?

“Have I been too nice to you lately?”

Albert turned his head sharply and shouted at May.

“Are you out of your mind?”

Sean looked up slowly, a chill in his eyes.

Sean did not care how Albert treated him.

They were not from the same world anyway, so they would not have much to do with each other.

However, Sean would not tolerate how Albert treated May.

“What’s the matter? Are you going to stand up for her?

“Look where you are. How dare you go against me?”

Albert rolled up his sleeves as he spoke.

“Aunt May treated you well, didn’t she?

“Aunt May carried you to the hospital when you hit your forehead when you tried climbing that wall.

“You’d be dead without her. How dare you treat her like that?”

The more Sean spoke, the colder his voice became.

“Ha. Why didn’t she fix my scar since she had brought me to the hospital?”

Albert curled his lip, not caring what Sean said.

Sean shook his head slightly when he heard that.

Albert proved what a man he was by saying such things.

Sean did not need to talk to him too much.

You could only say that May treated every child the same.

However, the same parenting style would not bring up the same people.

Children from single–parent families could easily deviate from the right path, let alone people without

any family.
