Chapter 1192

Halfway through, Zander slowed down again.

“Commander, I didn’t think this through….

“Surely you have plans and someone you want to use?”

Zander blushed a little as he spoke.

Since Sean said he was coming to Joules Town, Zander had been handling everything.

He suddenly realized he had never even asked Sean’s advice.

He did not ask about Sean’s plans or who he was looking for after they arrived.

Instead, he went ahead looking for his former subordinate with Sean.

It was quite inappropriate.

“There’s no rush.

“Follow the GPS.”

Sean waved his hand slightly, not caring about it.

He had a plan in mind, of course. He never did anything he was unsure of.

However, he knew Zander was loyal and that he wanted to see his former subordinate.

“Commander, I’m sorry.

“Your plan matters the most. We’d better not go.

“I’ll come and see them when I have time.”

Zander said quietly, rubbing his nose.

Sean glanced at Zander and understood what was on Zander’s mind.

There must be a reason why the subordinate he mentioned left the army before retirement age.

The most common reason for soldiers to retire when they were young was that they could no longer

live on the battlefield.

In other words, the subordinate Zander mentioned must have retired due to an injury.

It was even possible he was injured trying to protect Zander.

Therefore, it was natural that Zander wanted to see him.

“Stop talking and go.

“My things are important, but the others are just as important.”

Sean waved his hand slightly as he stared straight ahead.

He had a high status and was powerful.

However, he knew the phrase where the achievement of a general cost many lives.

No matter how strong and capable he was, he could not defeat a million enemies alone. Without those

brave soldiers, how could Sean have become a nine–star commander?

“Okay!”

Zander was silent for two seconds before nodding and following the GPS.

“His name is Jeffrey Hunter.

“He lost a leg from saving my life.

“He has been discharged from the army for a year and a half now.”

Zander could not help explaining to Sean on their way there.

“Okay.”

Sean nodded gently.

He felt sorry, but he knew how cruel it was on the battlefield.

He was fortunate to have been discharged from the army with a disability. Many more brave soldiers

had lost their lives on the battlefield.

Even with Sean’s superb medical skills, he could not avoid casualties on the battlefield.

“Commander, we’re here.”

Zander drove to what looked like a small town.

It was surrounded by villages, while shops and stalls were in the middle of the town. It was quite

bustling. There was some traffic congestion ahead, so Zander stopped outside instead of driving

forward.

“After Jeffrey was discharged from the army, he returned to his hometown and opened a small

restaurant not far from here.”

Zander explained to Sean after getting out of the car.

“Let’s walk there.”

Sean nodded and got out of the car.

The commotion from the town’s bazaar thundered into their ears at that instant.

Kids were playing around, hawkers were shouting, and the crowd was bustling…

The Joules Town accent made Sean think of a word.

Nostalgic!

He was less than ten years old when Colin took him.

He had lived in Joules Town before that.

It was the sensation he remembered.

Sean felt like he was a world away now that he was back in his hometown.

When he was a child, he was taken away by Colin by chance.

He was young and ignorant at the time.

He was now an adult and had worn a nine–star military uniform before.

However, he was only an ordinary young man after all.

It felt like a dream.

His years in the army felt like a dream too.

“Come on.”

Sean stepped forward.

Zander immediately led the way, looking around for Jeffrey’s restaurant.

It was noisier after entering the bazaar.

Sean said nothing as he followed Zander and walked slowly, looking straight ahead.

He was in the crowd yet seemed to be separated from it.

He enjoyed the noise and did not disturb it.

His hidden memories slowly gushed out as he revisited the place.

Sean thought he had forgotten the things and people in his childhood.

He was shocked to realize suddenly that he had not forgotten them.

“It’s been more than ten years.”

Sean muttered to himself.

Colin took him to the Northwest Army when he was ten years old.

13 years had passed since he had turned 23 this year.novelbin

Ten years was enough time to change a lot of people and things.

Sean suddenly wondered how the people in the orphanage were doing now.

“How ridiculous.

“I’m thinking of myself as a tourist.”

Moments later, Sean laughed at himself and shook his head slightly.
