Chapter 1053

“What is it? What are you doing?”

Jon was stunned as he panicked immediately.

However, the men had no intention of explaining and simply restrained Jon.

“Okay! So you’re blatantly in cahoots with Sean.

“What are you arresting me for?”

Jon struggled hard, his face unconvinced.

Click!

There was a loud click. Jon’s hands were twisted behind him and handcuffed.

Before Quill knew it, he received the same treatment as Jon.

“This is an approved arrest warrant for both of you.

“I can tell you clearly that you are under arrest.

The staff held up an arrest warrant and shook it in front of Jon’s eyes.

Jon was dumbfounded when he saw the stamped arrest warrant.

It was now a big deal!

They even brought an arrest warrant. It was already a criminal matter!

“Who… Who are you to…”

Before Jon could finish speaking, he was pushed into the car.

Quill and Jon sat in two separate cars and were taken to the government building.

The government office.

Jon and Quill were interrogated separately.

However, Jon was uncooperative no matter what the other person asked.

“What right have you to arrest me?

“I indeed owe money, but I have a loan contract with them.

“It’s all written in the contract. Even if I can’t pay it for the moment, it’s mostly a civil dispute.”

Jon sneered in his chair as if he knew the law.

“This is a 300–million–dollar business fraud, yet you call it a civil dispute.

“Even if it’s a civil dispute, do you think you’ll be okay?”

One of the staff looked at Jon solemnly.

“I didn’t say I won’t pay it, so it’s not a business scam.

“Where’s the proof that I’m a fraud?”

Jon shook his head, denying it.

“Since we’ve arrested you, it means we have enough evidence.

“Someone reported you, got it?”

The staff shook their heads slightly with some sarcasm in their eyes.

“What proof? What report?”

Jon frowned slightly at this.

Instead of saying anything, the staff just played a video.

In the video, James sat in a chair, explaining something to someone.

Someone was transcribing the entire conversation and recording them at the side.

“Zimmer Corporation’s Jon Zimmer contacted Jen–Bond Holdings about acquiring a piece of land in

River City but being unable to complete the project himself.

“So he wanted to cooperate with Jen–Bond Holdings to develop it.

“Jen–Bond Holdings spent a lot of money, manpower, and resources on this.

“Besides that, Jon has privately approached many companies for financing and loans.

“We later discovered Jon has sold the development rights to the land…

“Jon transferred away the money Jen–Bond Holdings invested, the loans he made under the table, and

the money he got from selling the development permit.

“Jen–Bond Holdings lost a lot of money.

“This is business fraud…”

James spoke clearly in the video; every sentence and word was like a bolt from the blue.

Jon’s fists clenched like he had received an electric shock.novelbin

Every word echoed in his ears like a land mine.

He did not expect his partner James to report him.

Everyone knew James and Jon were partners.

As his partner, he reported him to the government.

How credible was that?

It was no exaggeration to say that James single–handedly pushed Jon into the abyss from which he

would never recover!

James had distanced himself from Jen–Bond Holdings.

Jon could not hear what James said later in the video.

His head was buzzing, and his face was pale.

He had only one thought in mind.

‘It’s over!

‘It’s over for the Zimmer family!‘

“B*stard! James, you b*stard!

“Sean, it must be your fault. Sean, you son of a bi*ch!”

Jon suddenly lost control of his emotions and slammed his cuffed hands against the table.

However, it was just a pointless struggle after all.

The banging on the table could not change the fact.

“B*stard! B*stard!”

Jon’s whole body was shaking.

He knew very well that Sean must have set this up.

James must have colluded with Sean and sold Jon out to clear himself from it.

Jon knew what was going on.

However, what could he do?
