Chapter 996

Chapter 996 Provocation

Kiara found herself at a loss for words as Alex’s remarks hit home. It was true that she, as a mere salesassistant, could never afford the luxurious villas she was selling.

Trying to salvage some dignity, she huffed, “What does that have to do with you? If you can’t afford it.don’t bother me. I’m just doing my job.”

Alex retorted coldly, “I thought you didn’t even know what your job was. If you knew that your job is tosell houses, then why aren’t you telling me the price when I asked?”

Kiara felt a surge of embarrassment at the way Alex spoke to her. She couldn’t believe that someoneshe considered beneath her would dare to look down on her.

Determined to make an enemy out of Alex, she crossed her arms and shot him a sidelong glance.“Yes, I sell houses, but so what? What will you do if I refuse to tell you the price of these villas?”

Her dismissive and arrogant attitude struck a nerve with Alex. Just as he was about to explode, ayoung lady dressed in a sales uniform hurried over to them.

“Sir, Miss, you’re here to view the sales unit, right? Standing around must have tired you out. Please, have a seat. I’ll get you both something to drink.” the young lady, Yannie Reederland, said with a warmsmile.

“Right, Sir, Miss, what would you like?” she asked respectfully.

“Plain water will do,” Alex replied curtly.

“Give me a cup of coffee, please,” Jessica added with a friendly smile.

After ensuring that Alex and Jessica were settled, Yannie went to fetch their drinks.novelbin

As she walked past Kiara with the cup of water and coffee, Kiara surreptitiously stuck her foot out whennobody was watching.

Thud!

Before she knew it, Yannic had tripped and fallen to the ground, causing the drinks to spill. Thankfully, the hot coffee didn’t scald her.

Kiara covered her mouth and snickered at the sight of Yannie on the ground. She then quickly put onan act and offered her help. “Oh, my, Yannie. Be careful. Did you hurt yourself? Do we need to take youto the hospital?”

Yannie, with a bruised knee but otherwise unharmed, saw through Kiara’s pretense.

With a fierce glare, she pushed Kiara aside and walked away, choosing not to engage further. After all,she still had customers to attend to.

Meanwhile, the middle-aged man and his wife continued browsing the units. Frustrated and withnothing better to do, Kiara decided to retaliate against Yannie for glaring at her.

She seized Yannie’s collar and dragged the latter back, sneering, “Yannic, what’s with that dirty lookjust now? I was kindly helping you up, but instead of thanking me, you glared at me.”

Yannie shrugged Kiara’s hands off and replied sternly, “I don’t want to start a fight with you right now. Istill have customers to attend to.””

This wasn’t the first time Kiara had targeted her, and their clashes had become a regular occurrence atwork. Kiara seemed to have free rein to do as she pleased, benefiting from her special relationship with

the manager. She would even go so far as to snatch clients from Yannic.

“Oh, my, did I hear correctly? Yannie, did you really treat those two poor buggers as your customers?By the looks of it, they wouldn’t even be able to afford these luxurious villas in their next life,” Kiara saidsnobbishly. It was as if she saw herself at the pinnacle, capable of effortlessly affording those luxuriousvillas.

Unfazed by Kiara’s words, Yannie rolled her eyes and gracefully moved away from the situation. Shepoured fresh cups of water and coffee for Alex and Jessica before approaching them with aprofessional smile. “Please enjoy your drinks, Sir, Miss. If you have any questions or if there’s anythingthat catches your eye, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to explain the units to you.”

Kiara, who had been silently observing the interactions, pursed her lips in disdain.

She couldn’t fathom how Yannie, with her respectful and attentive demeanor toward Alex and Jessica, believed that they could afford those prestigious villas. In Kiara’s eyes, they were merely wasting hertime, and she was convinced they would leave without making any substantial commitment.
