Seeing that, Alex hurried over to Kate to take Emmalyn from her.

“She woke up shortly after you left. Since you weren’t here, she started crying and wouldn’t stop, nomatter how much I tried to comfort her. Look, her eyes are swollen from all the crying,” Kate explainedto him, concern evident in her voice.
Alex cast a glance at Emmalyn’s eyes and noticed they were red, and her lashes were still damp withtears. A surge of anguish gripped his heart as he realized that his daughter had indeed wept during hisabsence.
“Emma, my
dear. I had to step out for a while to take care of something, but now that I’m back, I won’t be goinganywhere. Let’s spend some time playing together, all right?” Alex said. affectionately.
“Thank you, Alex. My dad just informed me that a mysterious account transferred ten billion to ourfamily. That was you, wasn’t it?” Kate expressed her gratitude with a sense of relief.
Alex nodded. “I’m not giving the ten billion to your family. I’m loaning it to them, so they must repay it tome once they have overcome the crisis,” he stated firmly.
Considering how hard-earned the ten billion was for Alex, he would feel hesitant about giving it tosomeone else without expecting it to be repaid.
An awkward look crossed Kate’s face when she heard the word “loan.” She had assumed Alex wouldhelp her family without expecting anything in return, but it turned out he was merely loaning them themoney.
That doesn’t matter, though. As long as I can win his heart, as a married couple, we shouldn’t need toloan each other money, right?
Having collected her thoughts, Kate leaned against Alex’s back and encircled his waist with her arms.In a flirtatious tone, she expressed, “I’m grateful that you’re willing to help us. Suddenly, the door to the living room was opened to reveal Flynn, who came in with Stanley on hisshoulders. Stanley’s eyes lit up when he spotted Alex.
“Daddy, you’re at home!” Stanley waved his hands excitedly. After hopping off Flynn’s shoulders, he ranover to Alex.
Stanley had been with Flynn for the past few days, completely unaware of the events that transpired atthe wedding since he had been attending school that day.
