Chapter 893

Chapter 893 Die

That’s it? I ate it?

Alex had not foreseen himself actually being able to consume the green-headed fly and felt a lingeringfear upon recalling how bold he’d been.

Yet he seemed to be doing fine. All those red-headed hugs that were chasing him had evenmysteriously dropped dead.

Alex was in utter disbelief at suddenly being free from danger.

“Your insects are useless against me, you old coot! Bring it on! I have nothing to fear.” Alex was bendehimself with joy.

He was euphoric from successfully escaping death’s clutches. Even if he could be beaten to death byMagnus, at least he wouldn’t die in a horrific manner.

The Bentley stopped in front of Alex. Magnus had just opened the car door when he began coughingout blood. The hair beneath his black robe turned white alarmingly quickly, and the wrinkles on his facevisibly deepened.

The vitality in Magnus’ body was continuously depleting, thereby exhausting him. Still, he held on andpointed his bony finger at Alex as he gritted his teeth. “Y-You’re still alive after consuming my Life BugHow could this be?”

Alex was curious about it himself. He hadn’t foreseen resolving his threat as simply as that.

Alex cleared his throat and straightened his back, declaring proudly, “I have plenty of secrets. You’renot fit to be my opponent, old b’stard. Now get lost! Take it as me being merciful by letting you off easy.”

Those were merely empty threats. The truth was that he would still lose if Magnus were hellbent onsubduing him.

Alex could tell that Magnus’ power was superior to his based on his gait earlier.

Although Magnus used a walking stick, his steps were light and sturdy, as if it was effortless. However,he still paled in comparison to the elderly man who’d saved Alex’s life during the birthday celebration.

Alex wanted to try his luck in giving Magnus a scare since he thought he would likely not get away fromthem. He held on to the slim chance of Magnus being cowed by him.

To his surprise, Magnus collapsed right after that and never got up.

Alex was flabbergasted. He doubted Magnus was truly dead due to his impression of him being aformidable opponent.

Magnus remained unmoving on the ground for a long time, as if he were long gone.

Alex was wary of Magnus pulling tricks on him and didn’t approach to verify if he was still alive.

He nudged Magnus gingerly with his foot lest he tried anything shady but didn’t elicit any reaction in

response.

Jared was sprawled on the ground while he patted Magnus’ back and raised his voice worriedly. “Mr.Quentin, Mr. Quentin, are you all right? Hurry and get up! You will have plenty of time to rest afternovelbin

getting rid of this brat for good.”

Alex had never touched Magnus all this while. As such, Jared wasn’t convinced that Magnus was nowdeceased.

No matter how loudly Jared called, Magnus did not move an inch. Jared panicked when he felt thatsomething was off.

He stretched out a finger below Magnus’ nose but didn’t feel his breath. He tried to listen for hisheartbeat but felt no pulse.

Is he dead?

Jared was in disbelief. He couldn’t comprehend Magnus’ death when Alex was the one being pursued!

Alex knew from Jared’s crestfallen look that Magnus had passed on.

The cause of his death was probably due to Alex consuming the green-headed fly, which made the oldman vomit blood.

The evidence suggested that the green-headed fly was Magnus’ Life Bug. It was so closely linked to itsmaster that either one’s death meant the other would follow closely after.

Alex was confounded by how weak the green-headed fly was as compared to the red-headed bugs asthe fly didn’t stand a chance against him.

Unbeknownst to him, things weren’t as simple as they seemed.

Magnus’ Life Bug could effortlessly abolish a martial artist’s Mortal Force without being affected, whereas an ordinary human being would have combusted spontaneously with just one touch from thebug. Magnus had not expected Alex to be an anomaly. The snow ginseng had made Alex muchstronger and provided him a certain degree of immunity to fire attributes, coincidentally neutralizing thegreen- headed fly’s effect.

If Magnus’ plan had not gone wrong, trouncing Alex would have been a piece of cake. Alex’s survivalwas essentially due to sheer luck.

Alex’s gaze swept toward Jared, who was still attempting to revive Magnus. “Mr. Wallace, stop thisfutile effort. It’s time to pay your due.”
