With an air of authority, Giles firmly grasped the delicate arm of his granddaughter as he guided herpurposefully toward where Alex stood. In a single, calculated motion, he propelled Lydia forward,urging her closer to the young man.
In the past, such an act would have been beyond the elderly man’s capabilities. Yet, his physical formhad grown sturdier, endowed with newfound strength. Alas, despite her reluctance, Lydia was draggedalong by her grandfather’s determined pull.
At the sight of the Alex and Lydia standing side by side, Giles smacked his lips and exclaimed, “What agreat match! They look like a match made in heaven!”
Richard could no longer contain his frustration. Sensing the potential loss of his grandson-in-law toGiles, he hastened forward and pointed directly at his old friend. “Enough, you old geezer.
