Chapter 669

Chapter 669 Save Lucas

Over at Sakura Club, Alex was flipping through the Nine Heaven Scrolls with a frown. I’ve been tryingto make this pill for ages, but I’m getting nowhere. If I succeed in making it, it’ll undoubtedly advancemy abilities drastically. I’ve gathered almost all of the ingredients needed, but I’m still missinginapdragon. I’ve never even heard of it, let alone seen it. Where should I go to look for 11?novelbin

He had tried many other herbs with similar properties as snapdragon in the hopes that they would besuitable substitutes, but none of them worked.

“Why does it have to be snapdragon?” Alex grumbled to himself as he closed the Nine Heaven ScrollsSince I can’t find it, there’s no need for me to rot in here. I’d better set this matter aside for now.

At that moment, his phone rang. He answered the call and heard Heather on the other end, soundingsomewhat anxious.

“Alex, Lucas is in trouble. Could you please help him? Apart from asking for your help. I don’t knowwhat else to do.”

Alex could not stop himself from frowning, wondering what trouble Lucas had caused.

Tell me what happened first,” Alex replied calmly.

“Lucas has been cooped up at home without a job ever since my family went bankrupt. He’d go outgallivanting at night, and he has gotten into bad company. Lucas called me an hour ago, saying that helost a lot of money at gambling. He owes ten million, and if he doesn’t have the money by midnight, they’re going to kill him!”

As she spoke, she began to cry. Ten million! Despite knowing that Aler won’t have that much money, Idon’t know what else to do. The only person I can think of is Alex. I can’t just let those people beat

Lucas to death!

Alex was silent for a moment. Although he was dissatisfied with Lucas’ actions, he could not stand bywithout doing anything.

After asking Heather for Lucas’ location. Alex said, “All right. I’ll handle this. You don’t have to worry.”

It was almost forty minutes past nine in the evening, which meant that there was only a little more thanhours before midnight. Alex grabbed the nearest coat and prepared to head out.

As he rushed out, he bumped straight into Maggie, who was on her way to find him. The impact causedMaggie to fall heavily against Alex.

Rubbing her aching nose, Maggie shot him a glare and pouted as she grumbled, “Is your body made ofsteel? Why is it so hard? It hurts!”

Pressed for time, Alex did not elaborate. Turning to leave, he said quickly, “I have something to attendto now. I’ll give you a proper apology when I get back.”

Maggie felt a little uneasy as she watched him run off swiftly. Where’s he going at such an hour? Don’ttell me he’s in such a hurry because he’s meeting another woman!

The more she thought about it, the more convinced she was of its possibility. Hence, she ran after him.

As he stopped to open the car door, Maggie seized the opportunity to slip into the car. Alex glanced ather rather helplessly but did not say anything. After all, saving Lucas’ life was the top priority at thatmoment

Alex drove at top speed, but it still took almost an hour to arrive at Dragon City Cauno.

Maggie looked around in confusion. I thought he was going off to meet teith a woman, but he appearsto be here to gamble instead. I don’t get it. As far as I know, he isn’t a gambler.

Following behind him, they entered the casino without much trouble.

When she looked ahead, she saw a group of over twenty men standing in front of them. They werearmed with various items, including steel pipes, tasers, and even daggers.

Their leader was a man with a scar across his face. When he saw Alex and Maggie walking in, heasked in a croaky voice, “Are you here to save that punk, Lucas Jennings?”
