“What happened with the Jones family? Mom said that you were some master.” Heather looked at Alexcuriously.
When she returned from work, Carmen told her that the Jones family went on their knees and beggedAlex for his help. Furthermore, they gave him a bracelet worth five million.
After being married for so many years, this was the first time she noticed how capable Alex was.
Of course, this didn’t include the time when he subdued the robbers at the bank.
“They wanted me to conduct a purification ritual for their house,” Alex plainly replied.

“A fraud?”

“Do you know who the Jones family are? How could you try to cheat them? Will you be able to bear theconsequences?” The more she thought about it the more worried she was. Alex had dared to scam theJones family. Is he already tired of living?
Glaring fiercely at Alex, she gave Carmen a call.
Her mother was showing off the expensive bracelet all over town. If she accidentally damaged or lost it,they would be in big trouble if the Jones family came to reclaim it.
When Alex saw that Heather didn’t believe him, he was dumbfounded and left speechless.
Shaking his head, he went back to his room.
“Stand right there!” Heather shouted.
Alex frowned as he looked at her.
At that moment, Heather’s phone rang and she answered it.
“Mom, come home this instant. Don’t lose the bracelet!” Heather coaxed.
“What’s wrong?” Carmen sounded upset over the phone.
At that moment, she was showing the bracelet off to her friends from her line dancing class. And whenHeather insisted that she bring the bracelet home, it made her look bad.
“Don’t you know Alex was scamming the Jones family? When they return to reclaim it, what are yougoing to give them? That bracelet is worth five million!” Heather said in a grave tone.
Her words jolted Carmen. Though she loved the bracelet a lot, it did cost five million.
If the Jones family were to come and reclaim it, she would have to give it back.

After the call ended, Heather glared at Alex angrily. “I won’t stop you from doing anything nor interferewith your life. But, can you please think about your son before you do something the next time?”
“Do you know that cheating is against the law? Do you want our son to have a father that is labeled asa convict?”
Heather’s tone was grim as she was outraged.
She would not interfere with whatever Alex did, as long as it wasn’t against the law and didn’t affect thefamily.
However, something like cheating the Jones family was a behavior she had to put her foot down.
She couldn’t allow Alex’s impunity to affect the family’s daily life.
“Don’t worry, the Jones family will not come seeking retribution.” Alex shot Heather a knowing glanceas he prepared to return to his room.
“How do you know they won’t?” Heather asked curiously.
“Because I didn’t cheat them. That’s why,” Alex replied.
“You pretended to be a Master Geomancer to purify their home. And yet, you claim you didn’t cheatthem?” Heather mocked.
“When I said I didn’t cheat them, I meant it,” Alex retorted.
“You… do you want to destroy all of us?” Heather was furious. Hence, she stood up immediately andglared at Alex.
She was worried that Alex wouldn’t repent and went on to scam someone else.
