The men crowding the shores were fixated on the undulating figures of the ladies in the water.
There were a few women who were without swimming gear and opted to go in with whatever they werewearing. Through the rippling currents, one could make out the alluring figure of the women whoseclothes were plastered to their bodies.
It was a flawless portrait.
“Wow, come and see!”
A few spectators pointed at some of the male competitors.
With an uproarious splash, Kurt and another young man were putting on a performance of their skills.They interchanged between the backstroke and the butterfly stroke. Their enthusiastic displaysuccessfully riled up the crowd.
Only Alex employed the backstroke. Although it was the type of stroke which depleted the least of itsswimmer’s energy, it was not particularly fast. Yet Alex was neck and neck with Kurt and the rest.
When he realized Alex was keeping in pace with him, Kurt’s eyes narrowed with hostility.
But we’re still far from the finish line. There’s no need to be overly concerned.
There’s no point in me exerting all my energy now.
When I unleash my power, I’ll definitely be able to rocket past the rest of them.
But at this moment, cries of shock reached his ears.

The ten focused competitors were instantly halted by the exclamation from those on the shore. Theywhipped their heads around, panic–stricken.
About ten meters away, they could see a grey scaly surface jutted out of the water. It was movingtowards them at breakneck speed.
“Alligator!”
“There’s really an alligator!”
Jessica, Carlene and a few other women screamed in horror.
Even the men’s faces were drained of color. The most terrifying creature to lurk shallow waters was thealligator.
“Head back now!”
Carlene was frightened to the core. Despite her impressive swimming skills, she was still no match foran alligator.
Everybody in the water was beyond terrified. They swam for the shore as quickly as their limbs wouldcarry them without thinking much about the competition.
None were willing to sacrifice their life for the sake of the one hundred million in the prize.
But the alligator was drawing near and was almost near a few of the women.
Many of the spectators had shut their eyes, not wanting to see the impending bloodbath.
Only two people present still had a hold of their composure.
They were Alex and Kurt.
From where Alex was, he could clearly see the “alligator“.

But why is Kurt so calm?
He’s just an ordinary man.
How could an ordinary man be so fearless in the face of an alligator?
