Chapter 1239 Has He Lost His Sense Of Judgement.

“I’ve never mistreated Stanley! Alex, stop making a scene. We’re in the middle of our weddingceremony. Can we talk about this later tonight?”

Kate gently tugged at Alex’s clothes, her pleading expression resembling that of a woman who wastrying to consider the bigger picture.

The more she acted that way, the more Alex felt that there was something wrong with Kate. He wascertain she had done something to Stanley. The thought of bringing this dangerous. woman homebecame increasingly terrifying to him.

“If this matter isn’t clarified, I won’t go through with this marriage,” Alex said emotionlessly, swipingKate’s hand aside.

“Alex, are you intent on breaking my heart? Do you really want to embarrass me in front of so manypeople? Do you still care for Emmalyn and me?” Kate said as a crystal-like tear slid down her cheek, asight that would evoke pity in anyone.

Even though the guests below the stage were friends of Alex, they all felt that Alex’s actions. weresomewhat excessive when they saw the pitiful look on Kate’s face. Couldn’t whatever it is wait untilafter the wedding ceremony? Why does he insist on upsetting Kate at such a time?

With an indifferent expression, Alex looked at Kate and said coldly, “Your little tricks are useless in frontof me. Be honest and clarify this matter. If you don’t, I can still find out by asking others!”

When Maria clearly saw everything that was happening on stage, her hand instinctively covered hermouth in fear.

Everything had been going smoothly until I uttered those words. After that, it was as if Alex hadbecome a completely different person. Could it be that Mr. Jefferson actually heard what I just said?

But that shouldn’t be possible. We are so far apart and the music was so loud. How could he possiblyhave

heard me?novelbin

Kate had once threatened her, stating that if she were to reveal the truth, not only would her job be atrisk, but her children would also suffer the consequences.

At that point, the pastor could no longer bear to watch. He said to Alex, “Mr. Jefferson, no matter what, she is your future wife. How could you humiliate her in front of so many people?”

“An outsider like you has no right to meddle in my family affairs. Today, I’m simply trying to uncover thetruth,” Alex retorted assertively, leaving the pastor speechless.

Feeling utterly humiliated, the pastor left with a flick of his sleeve.

Alex’s intense anger stemmed from the thought of Stanley’s period of unusual silence and his fear ofseeing Kate. The memory only served to further intensify the suspicions Alex harbored.

“I really haven’t done anything wrong! Alex, if you don’t want to marry me or don’t want Emmalyn, youcould have just told me directly. There’s no need to go around in circles just. to humiliate me!” Kate wascrying, her tears falling like raindrops. As if she couldn’t bear the humiliation Alex had wrought uponher, she attempted to turn and leave.

Under normal circumstances, Alex wouldn’t pressure Kate once she began to cry. However, as thismatter concerned Stanley, Alex insisted on getting to the bottom of it.

He didn’t want to live a lifetime of regret when he saw Stanley’s lifeless body one day.

Grabbing Kate’s hand, Alex spoke with a chilling tone. “Did I say you could leave? You’re not goinganywhere until you explain this to me.”

Tears streamed down Kate’s face, as if she had suffered a great injustice. She looked at the man infront of her with a shocked gaze and questioned, “Alex, do you really not believe me? I told you I didn’tdo anything, yet you insist on putting me on a spot today?”

The guests below the stage had begun to sympathize with Kate. Even Flynn was somewhat confused. What’s going on with Alex? If there really is an issue, couldn’t they talk it out as a couple behind closeddoors? Why does he insist on making such a big fuss here? Has he lost his sense of judgment?
