Chapter 1222 The Role Of The Jade Pendant
“Why are you asking so many questions? Are you not going to kill me?” Alex probed.
He didn’t want to spill everything to the old man, only to end up dead. That was why he had to clarifybeforehand.
Damon let out a hearty laugh and gazed at Alex. “Why on earth would I want to kill you?” he asked,amused.
Hadriel grew anxious and couldn’t bear to watch this any longer. Not only was Damon refusing to helpthe secret world kill Alex, but he was even expressing interest in the latter now. That b*tch has alreadyescaped, and if this guy doesn’t die, all the humiliation I’ve suffered under him will be for naught!
With that in mind, he pleaded urgently, “Don’t fall for Alex’s words, Mr. Bach. Please, get rid of himnow!”
“What right do you have to speak here?” Damon responded, sending Hadriel flying with a wave of hislong sleeve.
Alex was completely dumbfounded. Isn’t this geezer the elder of the Raven Sect? Why did he do that toHadriel? Is there something going on behind the scenes that I don’t know about?
The disciples of the Raven Sect were just as stunned. They had thought that Damon would be theirsaving grace, but instead, he had attacked their sect leader.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Damon’s amiable demeanor toward Alex was entirely due to the dragon-shaped jade pendant in the latter’s hand.

Alex glanced at the dragon-shaped jade pendant in his hand instinctively. He was only safeguarding itfor Wanda out of fear that Hadriel would take it from her.

Alex had no plans to explain everything to Damon, for preserving his own life was his biggest priority
“So, if I’m the leader of the Raven Sect, then what does that make Hadriel?” he asked, clutching thejade pendant in his hand.
“The one who possesses the jade pendant is the sect leader. Perhaps he hasn’t said anything aboutthis simply because he knows that deep down, he’s not worthy of the title. In any case, his fate rests inhands,” Damon explained calmly.novelbin
