“Soren, do you know any good cafes around here? We can’t just settle for anything when we finally getto see Jessica!” Veronica playfully linked arms with her cousin.
“I know. We’re quite close to Del Costa. The Blue Mountain Coffee in there is particularly famous, butit’s only open to the residents. I have a friend who works at that café, though. He can help us get in.”
Soren spoke with glee, his gaze subconsciously falling upon Jessica. He wanted nothing more than tothoroughly admire the rare beauty in front of him.
“You’re amazing, Dear! You can actually get us into Del Costa. That’s so awesome! I’m falling moreand more in love with you.” Veronica winked at Soren and even blew him a kiss,
Jessica and Alex felt so awkward that they felt goosebumps all over their bodies. Nonetheless, theyforced out a couple of dry laughs but said nothing.
It was as if their permittance to enter the Blue Mountain Café was because of Soren.
“Anywhere is fine, as long as Jessica likes it,” Alex said casually. Now that Veronica had mistaken himfor Jessica’s boyfriend by Veronica, Alex would definitely not embarrass Jessica. So, he decided toplay this role to the best of his ability.
“Jessica, did you two really take a taxi all the way here just to buy a Barbie doll? If that’s the case, youcan ride in my boyfriend’s car. He drives a Land Rover, you know. It’s so comfortable to ride in a carworth. over a million.” Jessica said proudly.
Jessica took out the car keys from her pocket and pressed the button. The headlights of the BMWparked by the road flashed. “There’s no need. I have a car. Alex and I can just ride in mine.”
Veronica never expected that Jessica could actually afford a BMW, which left her somewhatastonished. However, when she thought of her own boyfriend driving a Land Rover, which was even
more expensive. than the BMW, she felt better in no time.
“Hey, I heard you’re working at Four Seas Corporation and even became the chairman’s secretary. Ididn’t expect you to be able to afford a car so soon. It seems that the chairman of Four SeasCorporation really values you!” Veronica said with a hint of sarcasm, looking at Alex as if she waslooking at a poor cuckolded
man.
“Being the chairman’s secretary may be lucrative, but it’s better for a girl to have some self-respect.After all, you have a boyfriend now. Although this job offers a high salary, it’s still somewhatinappropriate,” Veronica deliberately added, wanting to see Alex and Jessica get angry at each other.
