Chapter 1155 The Entire Company Belongs To Him

No sooner had Edmund’s words left his mouth than a resounding slap struck his face. The force of theblow left him dazed, and it took him quite a while to comprehend what had just happened.

Covering his burning face, Edmund looked at Arthur with a wronged expression and asked inastonishment, “Mr. Hart, why did you do that?”

Although I am the one who falsely accused Alex of stealing, nobody else knows about it! On thesurface, I have helped the company catch a thief who wanted to steal confidential information. Insteadof rewarding me, Mr. Hart slapped me. Can it be that he doesn’t fully understand what is going on?

Even if Edmund racked his brains, it would never occur to him that Alex was someone important.

From the way Arthur looked at Edmund, it was clear that he felt the urge to tear the latter apart. Thisidiot simply has no brains at all. He still doesn’t realize just how outrageous his mistake is.

“Edmund, who do you think stole the company’s trade secrets?” Arthur asked again.

Edmund didn’t hesitate to point his finger at Alex and declared with a righteous look on his face, “Mr.Hart, this is the man I caught stealing from the company!”

Bam!

Just as Edmund finished speaking, his face was met with a fierce slap from Arthur. This time, the forcewas even stronger than before, causing Edmund’s face to swell up.

Arthur snorted coldly before snapping at Edmund. “Do you even know who he is? How dare youaccuse him of stealing company secrets? The entire company belongs to him. Why would he need tosteal?”

Alex owns the company?

Edmund’s mind went completely blank. He didn’t know whether it was caused by Arthur’s slap or hisunwillingness to accept the truth. He just stood there, staring at Alex with a shocked expression.

Despite the doubts in his mind, he knew that Arthur would never make a mistake on something likethat.

I’m such a fool to have falsely accused the chairman of stealing company secrets. This is simplyridiculous. Alex is just a live-in son-in-law of the Jenningses, who has already divorced Heather. How isit possible that he is capable of being the chairman of a company worth hundreds of billions?

What puzzled Edmund the most was that Alex was working as a food delivery rider despite his high.position. What’s the real story behind this?

Sitting nearby, Alex noticed the confusion on Edmund’s face and chuckled lightly. “Edmund, I neversaid I was a food delivery rider. Even if I were, that doesn’t give you the right to slander me, does it?”novelbin

Edmund’s back was already soaked with sweat, as what he had done today was simply unforgivable.Since Alex was the chairman of the tech dome, offending such an important figure was no differentfrom suicide.

Compared to his future prospects, his pride was nothing. Without any hesitation, Edmund knelt down.before Alex and begged, “I’m sorry, Mr. Jefferson! I really didn’t know you were the chairman. I onlymade the mistake because I was confused. Please, on the account that we’re former classmates, letme off just this once!”

“Former classmate? Didn’t you claim that you don’t have a stinky delivery guy like me as a classmate?”Alex said teasingly.

“This… this…”

Brimming with regret, Edmund raised his hand and fiercely slapped himself several times on the mouth. He then said, “Mr. Jefferson, I have gone too far by saying such words. I’ll slap my own mouth to showmy remorse. Mr. Jefferson, please, I beg you to let me off the hook for the sake of our relationship asformer classmates.”

Alex quietly watched Edmund slap himself. He was not going to forgive the latter just because heslapped himself a few times.

At that moment, several uniformed police officers arrived. They looked at the crowd and asked,“Someone reported that a thief was caught stealing secrets. Where is the thief?”

As if they had agreed beforehand, everyone pointed their fingers at Edmund.

Edmund was dumbfounded. He never expected his coworkers to slander him like that. He franticallyattempted to explain himself to the police officers but swallowed the words in the end.

If getting arrested could quell Alex’s anger, he figured that was the better choice than getting on thebad side of such an important figure.

“That’s right! I stole the company’s secrets…” Edmund reluctantly admitted.

No sooner had the words left his mouth than several officers grabbed him, stuffed him into their car,and sped away.

After the issue with Edmund was resolved, everyone else was left feeling on edge. After all, whenEdmund was throwing accusations at Alex earlier, almost every one of them had joined in to ridicule thelatter.

Just when they thought Alex would teach them a lesson, Arthur and Alex took the elevator together andleft the eighth floor without any intention of holding them accountable.

Upon seeing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Deep down, they admired Alex for being trulymagnanimous in looking past what they had done.
