Chapter 1009

Chapter 1009 The Manor

All the police from the patrol team who went there had been slaughtered. Even their organs werestripped from their bodies. Dozens of bodies of both genders lay motionless at the scene.

Their blood had colored the entire place red, making it look like a scene from a terrible nightmare. EvenAlex felt rage and intense hatred surging within him at the sight, let alone Elsa. One could only imaginehow horrified she had been upon witnessing the gory scene.

Alex was stunned to discover that there were no signs of struggle on the bodies of those deceasedpolice officers after carefully examining the injuries on the bodies and surveying the crime scene. Infact, other than the deep bloody gash on their abdomens, no other injuries were seen.

Alex frowned at the discovery. All of these police officers were equipped with guns, so how could theybe killed without putting up a fight? It looks like the case isn’t as simple as it seems.

He glanced at Elsa, who was wearing a sorrowful expression, and offered, “Why don’t you head backfirst? Leave the investigation to me.”

“Head back?” Puzzled at Alex’s suggestion, she answered with conviction, “No! I will personally capturethe culprits who did this no matter what!”

I have to avenge the death of my colleagues. How can I head back without doing so? I shouldn’tbecome a police officer if I’m a coward who backs down in the face of danger!

Alex sighed resignedly. He truly didn’t want to risk Elsa’s safety by taking her with him, but he had noidea how to dissuade her after witnessing her resolution.

“Fine. You can come, but follow me closely. You must leave first thing if anything happens. Don’t worryabout me. Do you understand?” Alex asked.

Elsa nodded, but deep down, she knew she wouldn’t ditch him and flee if something happened to him.

Closing his eyes, Alex fanned out his consciousness, and almost instantly, everything registered in hismind was magnified as though placed under a microscope. He could even pinpoint a tiny bug in a bushten meters away.

A few seconds later, he opened his eyes and looked in a specific direction. “Follow me,” he said.

Elsa nodded and trailed behind him.

Naturally, they didn’t have the time to deal with the bodies of the police officers on the ground, as themost crucial task at that moment was to catch the culprits. Once the culprits were caught, a grandfuneral would be held for the brutally murdered officers in memory of their sacrifices.

Alex possessed the abilities of a Master, with exceptional agility and heightened senses. Elsa, on theother hand, was an ordinary person, so she couldn’t catch up to Alex.

Being mindful of her speed, he intentionally slowed down his pace to match hers. After running for halfan hour, they noticed that their surroundings had grown increasingly remote.

Alex’s field of vision widened after they passed through a forest, and he spotted a manor a distanceaway.

This is it!

When Elsa saw the massive manor, profound hatred washed over her. Her left hand immediatelyreachednovelbin

Noticing how impulsive she was, Alex hurriedly stopped her. He feared she would charge forwardrecklessly to avenge her colleagues when he wasn’t paying attention.

“Let’s wait for a second. Alex bent down and picked up a few rocks lying on the ground, storing them inhis pocket until it was filled to the brim.

“All right, now let’s go. Follow behind me, and don’t attack without my order,” Alex ordered sternly.

She didn’t understand why he picked up those rocks but didn’t care to ask too many questions underthose circumstances. Nodding, she stayed close to him.
