Lizetta bit her lip so hard that the taste of blood filled her mouth as she mechanically nodded her head.

Yoli would be okay! Yoli had to be okay!

But deep down, she knew. There was no such thing of the most dangerous area in the head. It was thehead they were talking about - a place where one couldn't afford any harm. Suddenly, someoneshouted that the ambulance had arrived, and Hogan immediately scooped Yolanda up in his arms.

Lizetta stood up, her vision darkening, her body swaying. Then, she felt herself being steadied by avery familiar set of arms, a man's large hand gripping her waist tightly. But the embrace that usually feltwarm and comforting was now like being wrapped in thorns, causing Lizetta pain all over.

"Don't touch me!"

She glared with disdain, and disentangled herself from the grip, struggling to follow. But her weddingdress, with its long train, got in her way, causing her to stumble.

Remington grabbed her arm again, pulling her back to his side with a firm voice, "I'll carry you."

Lizetta wouldn't have it. She yanked her arm away, bent down, and started ripping at the long train ofher dress with all her might.

The sound of tearing fabric seemed to echo right next to Remington's ear. He felt as if what she wastearing apart was his heart.

However, when Lizetta looked up at him, her eyes were cold and empty. She said, "Remington, fourteen years of kindness, love, and foolishness. Today, you and I are done!"

The torn fabric cut into Lizetta's palm, staining it with her blood. Her pale lower lip was also bitten, dotted with blood.

Remington saw it all, emotions churning in his eyes, almost wanting to burn everything to the ground.

But Lizetta only gave him that one look before throwing the torn fabric at his feet and turning to rundown the stairs after Hogan.

Remington lifted his foot to follow but then stopped, ultimately closing his eyes and standing frozen inplace.

Lizetta didn't want to see him. The place was in chaos, and he'd arrived late. It was his responsibility tofix things.

The man stood there, his figure stern, fists clenched, veins bulging on the back of his hands. Heseemed like a silent mountain, beneath which a devastating avalanche was brewing.

In the grand hotel lobby, filled with people, everything suddenly felt as if it had frozen over, silentenough to hear a pin drop.

After a moment, Remington moved. He bent down, picking up the torn fabric from the floor, clenching itin his hand as if holding onto something this way.

He then turned, his icy gaze sweeping around before settling on Camille's slightly swollen face. Thenhe looked at Lucian who appeared guilt-ridden and heavy-hearted, his voice hoarse as he asked, "Howdid she fall?"

Lucian swallowed hard, his complexion pale.

It'd been chaotic. He'd only been trying to protect his mother and hadn't noticed Hanna being so closeto the stairs.

He hadn't imagined that just pushing a bit would result in such consequences. He opened his mouth tospeak, but Camille nudged him, saying, "Let me explain. You better go check on the girl; don't leave Lizall alone."novelbin

Lucian nodded and hurried down the stairs. Camille quickly relayed everything to Remington.

Remington listened in silence, his expression growing darker by the minute, the fabric gripped in hishand emitting a crumpled rustle.

After Remington heard the story, his gaze swept across the room, unsurprisingly not finding Hanna andEvelina, the two involved.

"Go, search the entire hotel if you have to, but find Mrs. Hanna Dashiell and Evelina!" Remingtonordered sternly, striding towards the banquet hall.
