Chapter 3106

Whenever she ate out and had leftovers, she always had them to go. She was not scared of othersmaking fun of her.

Having grown up in a farming village and was treated badly by her adoptive mother, her habit ofavoiding wastage was completely understandable.

Ten minutes later, Caroline drove back to Fisher Enterprise. As soon as she arrived at thecompany’s entrance, she was blocked by a few people.

Her adoptive family was here.

They must have waited at Fisher Enterprise for quite some time but failed to see her. They did notexpect her to be out of office.

Her brothers had spotted her in the car first. They notified their mom, who confirmed Caroline’sidentity. Carmen brought her sons to Caroline.

Caroline stopped her car.

She was not afraid of these people when in her territory.

She also believed they would not dare touch her on the Fishers’ turf.

When they approached her, Caroline lowered her window and asked Carmen coldly, “What are youthree doing here?”

“Carol.”

Carmen forced a smile, one that looked uglier than a crying face in Caroline’s opinion.

Carmen was obviously depressed over Celine’s passing last night.

Caroline said indifferently, “You don’t have to smile if you don’t feel like it. Your daughter passedaway just last night. You shouldn’t be smiling. Although you didn’t raise her, you knew she was yourdaughter all along. Whenever your husband returned home, you would always tell him to pass onthe best stuff you had in the house to Celine.

“It’d be a lie to say you feel nothing for Celine. Now that she’s dead, it’s normal for you to be upset. There’s no need to force a smile.”

Carmen looked haggard as if she had aged by ten years overnight. Her eyes were red and swollentoo.

It was just as Caroline said. How could Carmen not be sad over Celine’s death?

“Carol…”

Carmen wiped her tears and said, “We just wanted to visit you, Carol.

“We’re sorry for everything we did in the past.”

Caroline’s gaze remained indifferent as she said, “The past is in the past. I never want to bring it upagain. You mistreated me, but you also didn’t strangle me to death when I was young and raised meinstead. And for that, I’ll let you guys off the hook.

“Since you’ve seen me, just leave and continue with your lives. I’m doing fine.”

Caroline had already gotten used to life as one of the Fishers.

She was doing well as the successor as well.

There was no need for the Dotts to be concerned.

They were not even worried about Caroline in the first place. They used to fear Caroline gaininginfluence would put Celine at a disadvantage.

Although Celine’s attitude toward the Dotts was terrible, Carmen was still biased toward her.novelbin

Frankly, Caroline had been jealous before. That was when she first returned to the Fisher familyafter discovering she was the true heir.

Back then, Celine was the favorite person of both her biological and adoptive families, includingBelinda, Hunter, and the Clark brothers.

On the other hand, Caroline did not receive any love from either family.

“Carol, Mom and Dad have painstakingly raised you, and things are difficult for us now. Celine isalso… Can you give us some money?”
