Chapter 2995

Zachary looked worried. “If you can’t manage it, then don’t. I’ll help you do it instead.

“Seren, I want you to be carefree for the rest of your life.”

Serenity touched his cheek.

“Babe, every time I see you, I thank Nana for letting me marry such a wonderful man. I thank your

family too for never looking down on me and never saying things like I’m not good enough for you to

me.

“I know—you’re so good to me and you don’t want to burden me.

“But since I’ve married you and am now the eldest daughter-in-law of the York family, I must bear the

responsibility that falls on me. I can’t run from it, and neither will I refuse to bear it.

“Plus, you’re already so busy. How could I make you do it instead?”

Serenity said confidently, “I can surely do everything well.

“I won’t complain, either. You know how dedicated I am.”

Zachary gazed at her deeply.

He hugged her tightly for a long moment before letting her go.

“It’ll be easy once you’re familiar with it. Like my mom—she’s been managing it all for decades now

and learned the ins and outs of it early on. She’s also nurtured a lot of good talent to help her and all

she needs to do now is just check the accounts once in a while.

“You’re making a good start. Once Lil’ Bun is born, you can slowly learn and nurture your own group of

trusted, elite subordinates. Then, you’ll be able to be a hands-off manager like my mom.”

Serenity nodded. “I’ll learn from her. Hurry up and go do your work. Once you’re done, we can go home

and have dinner.

“Mom texted me earlier, asking us to go back for dinner tonight. Austin’s back and is going to cook for

us.”

Austin was going to move quite a distance away and he had caused his parents to have a minor

argument, so he was having dinner with them to make up for it.

This weekend, he also planned to spend some quality time with them before flying to Satbury on

Monday to interview for the role of the O’Connors’ private chef.

He was going so far away to become a chef. Naturally, he was not going to tell Isabella O’Connor of his

own volition that he was one of the Wiltspoon Yorks.

Otherwise, she might not hire him.

Luckily, he was not that well-known and normally kept a low profile too. Even Wiltspoonians were not

that familiar with him, let alone Isabella in the distant Satbury.

Zachary laughed. “We have to go back for dinner, then. Seren, you can sit here and read while I get my

work done.”

He grabbed a book for his wife to pass the time with.

Around half past five, Zachary turned off his computer and stood up to make his way around his desk.

Serenity looked up to see him walking over to her and smiled as she asked, “Are you done?”

“Yeah. Let’s go home.”

“Tomorrow’s the weekend. You don’t have any clients to entertain, do you?”

“Nope. How many people out there do you think could make me entertain them?” Zachary retorted.

“Then shall we stay at Wildridge Manor?”

Zachary said indulgently, “We could if you want to.”

“No matter how cold it gets, it won’t snow,” Serenity said.novelbin
