Chapter 2989

More importantly, during one of his visits, Granddad kept sighing whenever he saw him.

Grandmom would keep telling him to tell Mom to remarry Dad when he goes back.

However, Sonny was still young. He did not know what remarrying meant.

Olivia had explained it to Sonny as having his parents live together again.

Sonny shook his head vigorously at that. He said he liked living with Liberty and did not want to be with

Hank.

Moreover, Lucas was always in Hank’s house. He still liked to snatch Sonny’s toys.

While Sonny’s grandparents would not side with Lucas anymore, Chelsea would scold him for not

sharing his toys with Lucas despite having a lot of money and toys. She said he was petty and stingy.

Chelsea even secretly asked him to give her money for her business.

He replied that he had no money and that Liberty had kept all of it in the bank for him.

Chelsea told Sonny off for being stupid and letting Liberty control his money instead of keeping it

himself.

Sonny’s dislike for his aunt gradually grew.

The Browns did not disturb Liberty anymore. They would ask Liberty to send Sonny over whenever

they wanted to see him. Otherwise, the Browns would go to Sonny’s preschool to pick him up and

inform Liberty afterward.

They needed Liberty’s approval to take Sonny out of school.

If she disagreed, even Hank as Sonny’s biological father could not take him away.

It was because the Browns had previously snatched Sonny away and hid him from Liberty.

The Browns could never change, especially Chelsea and Olivia. They still looked for trouble

occasionally but dared not do so in front of Liberty.

Sonny was a smart kid. He knew that his father’s family were bad people, so he did not like going to

Hank’s house.

That was unless Hank did not go to work and accompanied Sonny the entire day.

That way, his grandparents and aunt would not talk nonsense to him. However, Hank would badmouth

Duncan.

Serenity replied, “Sonny is going to Jensburg to meet Liberty this week, Mr. Brown. He can’t go to your

place.”

Hank smiled sheepishly. “It’s okay. Next week, then. I’ll pick Sonny up from school next Friday.”

Serenity said, “You have to ask my sister. If she agrees, you have to seek Sonny’s permission next.

You can only take Sonny to your place for the weekend if they both are willing and send him back on

Sunday evening.”

Serenity would always arrange for someone to pick Sonny up from the Browns’ house after he spent

the weekend there.

Hank replied, “I know.”

He looked toward Duncan and could not resist asking, “Why are you going to Jensburg, Mr. Lewis?”

Was it to spend the weekend with Liberty?

Hank knew he no longer had the right to care about Liberty’s affairs. He had not even divorced Jessica

yet. Liberty could remarry if she wanted to.

Nevertheless, he was curious.

Hank was rendered speechless.

Hank could never in his lifetime achieve the wealth Duncan possessed.

He chuckled embarrassedly. “I’ll leave Sonny in your care.”

“I’ll do so even without you telling me to.”

Those words carved Hank’s heart like a knife. He felt bitter and hurt, yet he could not say anything.

“Let’s go, Dunc.”

Sonny feared Hank would take him away. He urged Duncan to get into the car.

Duncan told Serenity, “We’ll be heading off.”
