Chapter 2986

Serenity's car was parked at Lewis & Co. She was waiting for Duncan to come out.

He did not make her wait too long and appeared in his car within minutes.

“Serenity.”

Duncan lowered his window and said, “You can pass Sonny’s luggage to me.”

Serenity replied, “I still have to send you two off. Sonny’s stuff is already in my car, Duncan. Let’s go to

the preschool first, he’s almost done.”

“Okay.”

Duncan then asked, “Didn’t Zack come along?”

“I didn’t tell him. He’s busy too.”

Duncan nodded. Zachary was indeed a busy man.

Serenity drove away and Duncan followed from behind.

When they arrived at the preschool, they bumped into Carrie again.

Carrie had been deliberately setting up such encounters every day.

“Are you here to pick your nephew up?” Carrie asked Serenity with a smile.

When she saw Duncan beside Serenity, her gaze gleamed. If it were not for Serenity already

approaching her, she would have taken a picture of Serenity and Duncan together.

Zachary was crazy about his wife. Did he know that she and his best friend were together?

“Yes. Are you here to pick your sister-in-law up as well?”novelbin

“That’s right. I’m in charge of taking Stella between school and home on weekdays. Since the weekend

starts tomorrow, I can finally rest for two days. Oh, wait. I can’t. She wants me to take her to the

amusement park.

“Although my in-laws are at home, they still have countless matters and meetings. They also must have

meals with clients or accompany them to play golf. They are always swamped.”

Carrie was becoming a natural at lying.

The more she lied, the more she felt it was true.

It was as if she was truly Mrs. Longbottom and that she had a brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

“Stella clings to me more than she does her parents. It’s as if they gave birth to their daughter for me. I

do feel like a mother instead of a sister-in-law to Stella.”

Carrie sighed.

Serenity laughed. “I see.”

Serenity then told the teacher at the gate that she was there to fetch Sonny from preschool. That

teacher relayed the message.

Serenity waited for Sonny to come out.

Although Carrie stood by her side, her gaze was fixed on Duncan, who was in a wheelchair pushed by

his bodyguard.

“Isn’t this Mr. Duncan Lewis? I remember him vaguely because I’ve seen him from afar several times.”

It was true that Carrie did not have much of an impression on Duncan.

She rarely got to meet such outstanding men.

Even if they attended the same banquet, she could only watch them from afar.

Serenity simply hummed in acknowledgment.

Seeing her cold reaction, Carrie knew not to probe any further.

Nevertheless, she was seething within.

She was disappointed as she initially thought she had managed to capture evidence of Serenity having

an affair.

It turned out that she was overthinking.

Duncan and Liberty’s story was well-known among Wiltspoonians.

It was mainly because Liberty was a divorcee with a child.

However, he fell in love with Liberty, a divorced woman.

Even his current wheelchair-bound state was because of Liberty.

Carrie scolded mentally, ‘The Hunt sisters are like sirens. They easily seduce men’s hearts.’
