Hunter looked toward Caroline and said, “Since Adrian is here, you can go home, Carol. Your mom
hasn’t been in a good mood lately. She isn’t going to the office or managing family matters. You must
be tired. Go get some rest.”
Adrian added, “That’s right, Carol. I’ll stay here with Dad. You can go home.”
Caroline did not want to linger there any longer either.
She was not close to Hunter in the first place.

After they left, Adrian returned and told Hunter, “Caroline and Mr. Fletcher have left, Dad.”
Hunter replied, “Take a look outside again two minutes later. We’ll talk again after confirming that
they’ve left.”
Adrian knew that Hunter wanted to ask about Celine. He agreed.
A few minutes later, Adrian took a stroll outside the ward. He only returned to the ward after he was
sure that Celine and Darren had left.
“They’re gone, Dad,” Adrian said as he re-entered the ward.
“How are you feeling, Dad? What did Mom do to you?”
Adrian sat at the end of the bed. “Mom forbade us from asking about your condition. We know you’re
injured, but we don’t know how bad it is.”
He eyed Hunter from head to toe. There was no sign of injury on him.
His limbs were intact, and the mark left on his face from the slap was long gone. Only his spirits
seemed slightly down.
Hunter did not tell Adrian that he was castrated. He simply said, “I sustained some internal injuries that
required a short hospital stay. I’m recovering well. I can get discharged in a few days.
“Your mom only hurt me because she was too angry. She regretted it and was worried for me. She sent
me to the hospital and nursed me herself. We didn’t want you all to worry. Anyway, I’m fine now.”novelbin

Hunter blushed. He said, “I know. I won’t have affairs again. Your mom forgave me this time. I’ll just
stay by her side for the rest of my life.”
