Chapter 2943

Caroline said, “The Clark family is doing well.”

Caroline knew that the Clarks’ future was Hunter’s utmost priority.

That was why he feared Belinda’s revenge and chose to get castrated to protect the marriage. Even if

he would be separated from his wife, then so be it. It was his fault for not being cautious.

“That’s great. Although you bear your mom’s last name, Carol, the blood of the Clark family runs in you

too. You can’t remain indifferent if something were to happen to the Clarks in the future. Your aunts and

uncles have been treating you well.”

Caroline said calmly, “They have jobs now. As long as they work hard and aren’t up to something, their

lives will be comfortable. If they run into any emergencies, I’ll help them to the best of my abilities.”

However, she would not break any rules for them if the issue was beyond her.

Hunter understood Caroline’s hidden meaning.

He knew she was as cold-hearted as Belinda. She had no feelings for the Clark family at all.

The one who had was Celine.

Hunter wondered how Celine was doing.

He smiled. “They’re all honest people, and that includes your cousins.”

Caroline did not care about that. However, the Clarks should never misbehave in the name of the

Fisher family.

She did not want anyone using her as a pawn.

“I know, Dad.”

Hunter observed Caroline for some time before turning to Darren. He was hesitating to speak. Sensing

his state, Caroline said, “You can be straightforward with me, Dad. There’s no need for us to hide

anything from each other.”

“Carol, actually, your mom has feelings for someone else too. However, that person disappeared. She

only married me to give birth to a few children. She doesn’t love me.”

Caroline’s eyes flashed. She quickly replied, “It doesn’t matter. You’re the one who married her and had

children together. Mom might not have been a virtuous wife over the years, but she treated the Clark

family well.

“While she’s strict with you, you hadn’t exactly given her a sense of security either. She only bosses

you around like that because she can’t trust you. Didn’t you still manage to cheat on her despite her

tight control?”

Caroline never thought her mom held someone else dear in her heart.

Since Belinda still married Hunter in the end, the man she loved probably left because he came from a

good family and was unwilling to be a live-in son-in-law to the Fishers.

Hunter kept quiet.

Back then, he married Belinda because of the benefits the Fisher family could provide to the Clarks.

He thought he could seduce his wife with his looks and become the acting head of the Fisher family.

He was too naive.

Belinda had never let her guard down against Hunter all along. He was like a decoration in the Fisher

family, easily replaceable.

Hunter only enjoyed better treatment when his wife was happy.

He often thought, ‘Would Belinda act this way if she married someone she truly loved?’

Definitely not.

If Belinda wanted to treat someone well, she would do so with all her might.

Years went by and still no news.

Hunter hoped the man had passed away. After all, that man was not young anymore. If he were alive,

he would be in his eighties or nineties. Content belongs to Draмanоvеls.com

“Do you want to rest, Dad?”

Caroline did not want to talk about the past with her father.novelbin
