Chapter 2855

“Will, what can I do now?”

Knowing that Will acknowledged him, Julian regarded Will as an ally and could not help but ask for

guidance.

Will answered, “You can either stay here and watch, or you can go back and help my mom cook.

Anyway, you don’t need to worry about what Quinn is doing. She’ll come back in the evening, and after

she returns, the two of you can have a good talk.

“You just need to make her believe that your feelings for her are sincere.”

Julian said, “I understand. Thank you, Will. I’ll go back and help with the cooking.”

Appealing to the future mother-in-law was the battle half won.

Quinn was not frightened by Julian’s confession. She just found it hard to believe and heard a man say

he loved her for the first time.

She came out of the gym shivering, braving the cold wind, and her mind became clear.

She did not spend much time outside and quickly ran back home.

Fortunately, the gym was very close to her house.

Zoey was still preparing the ingredients for tonight’s Italian cuisine—comfort food in this cold weather.

If there was no heating inside, she could not bear to stay.

As soon as winter came, Zoey rarely went out. Even buying groceries was left to the children. She was

from the south and was afraid of the cold. Even after marrying and being in Summervale for decades,

she still liked to stay indoors when winter came.

Hearing the door open, Zoey came out and saw Quinn. Seeing it was her daughter, she asked, “Isn’t

class still on? Why are you back? Is it snowing outside?

“There’s hot chocolate. Go and pour yourself a cup to warm yourself up.”

Zoey went back to the kitchen while talking.

“How come you’re the only one who came back? What about your brothers?”

Zoey busied herself but did not forget to ask her daughter.

Quinn answered, “I had something to do, so I came back early. Mom, where’s Dad?”novelbin

“Your dad went out. Someone invited him for dinner, and he won’t be coming home for dinner tonight.

He said to eat without him. What’s the matter?”

Zoey turned around and asked Quinn who had just entered the kitchen.

Quinn hesitated for a moment. “It’s that time of the month, and I didn’t bring any sanitary pads, so I left

work early.”

“Oh.

“But, wasn’t your last cycle on the 10th? It’s only the 25th, and you’re having another cycle?”

The only women at home were both of them. Zoey was well aware of her daughter’s menstrual cycle.

Zoey paid special attention, especially during Quinn’s puberty. She feared that her daughter might feel

too shy to talk about it, reminding Quinn frequently that if she felt uncomfortable or something was not

normal, she must tell.

Quinn then said, “Well, maybe it’s irregular this month. Mom, I’ll go upstairs first.”

Afraid of her mother seeing through her lie, Quinn quickly went upstairs.

She closed the door and sat quietly by herself.

Then she went to the bed, looking at the ceiling, she muttered to herself, “Julian said he fell in love with

me at first sight, that his liking for me is a man’s love for a woman. He said he wanted to marry me.

Why do I feel like I’m dreaming? Me, Quinn Crawford, being liked by a man?

“And he’s such an outstanding CEO too.”

Quinn did not have high expectations for romantic relationships, mainly because she had been

arranged for numerous blind dates by her mother, all ending with the other party standing her up. She

claimed not to care, but it did affect her. It made her feel inadequate, and unsuitable to be a wife, so

she did not believe any man would truly love her.

They would just see her as one of their buddies.

She could not be blamed for seeing the men around her as just friends, right? It was they who treated

her like one in the first place.
