Chapter 2789

Kevin’s call gave Hayden an excuse to rest.

She whispered to her mom, who had been overseeing her practice to walk like a lady, “Mom, it’s

Kevin.”

Sophia hummed in acknowledgment.

Hayden walked to the sofa in large strides and sat. The way she walked made Sophia frown. She

followed her daughter with a resigned expression.

Despite being used to dressing up as a man, Hayden still could walk after changing into women’s

clothes and wearing high heels. However, she was unable to walk as elegantly as Sophia wanted. Her

pace was too fast.

While at it, she would even stumble and look as if she was about to sprain her ankle.

Anyway, Sophia was greatly unsatisfied with the way Hayden walked in heels.

After sitting on the sofa, Hayden immediately removed the shoes.

Sophia was not being considerate at all. She had gotten heels that were too high for a first-timer. She

wanted Hayden to practice walking in them even though the heels she would be wearing to the

banquet were a different pair.

Hayden was unhappy.

However, Sophia said that mastering the more challenging pair would make it easier for her to walk in

the ones she would be wearing that night.

“Kevin,” Hayden called his name softly.novelbin

She had never looked forward to his call as much as she did at that moment. It was also her first time

calling his name with such a gentle tone.

She had a cold personality. Even if she loved Kevin, she rarely showed her gentle side or acted cute

like other women.

Sometimes, a smile from her during their conversation could keep Kevin excited for a few days.

“I’m not back at the office. I gave myself half a day off and am resting at home now.”

Hayden must have used all her tenderness in calling his name as her tone returned to normal

afterward.

“Are you okay?”

Kevin asked worriedly, “Are you feeling unwell?”

Hayden was a workaholic like Zachary before he married Serenity. She rarely rested during workdays.

Even if it were the weekends, she would still be handling company matters at home.

It was only since his courtship that she started resting on weekends.

Sometimes, she also had to go for exercise, horse riding, sailing, and even car racing with other CEOs.

However, not many CEOs could make Hayden accompany them personally, so those situations were a

rare occurrence.

“No.”

Hayden replied, “I’m fine. I’m not feeling unwell.”

“Did something happen to your family then? Why did you take half a day off on a workday? You must

be too tired. I told you not to work too hard. You can hand some work to Hugh. He’s only ten minutes

younger than you.

“Don’t take everything upon yourself. You’ll die from exhaustion.”

Kevin’s heart ached for his darling Hayden.

Although Donald was still the chairman of Queen Enterprise, he rarely meddled in company matters

anymore. He handed everything to the twins. Hayden took on the bulk of the responsibility, so Hugh’s

life was comparatively more relaxed.

It was obvious from Hugh’s frequent hangouts and parties with his female friends that he definitely had

things way easier than his sister.

Queen Enterprise was a huge company, and Kevin knew how tiring it was to be the CEO. That was

why he felt bad for Hayden and was unsatisfied with Hugh.

“I’m okay. Fetch me from my parent’s house. You’ll know why I took half a day off when you’re here.”

Kevin said, “I’ll head over now.”

“Drive carefully.”
