Chapter 2781

“Mom.”

Hayden answered her mom’s call.

“Has your work ended, Hay?”

“Mm. I’m about to leave. What’s the matter?”

Sophia asked, “Should I buy some casual clothes for you aside from the dress?”

Hayden rejected her offer without thinking twice. “No.”

She was only wearing a dress to the banquet tomorrow night to announce that she was a woman. It

was also to clear any doubts about her love for Kevin and his sexual preferences. No one would ever

look at him differently again.

They always thought Kevin had ruined her. That was why those people harbored prejudice against him

but not her.

“Why not? Aren’t you going to live your life as a woman from now on?”

Sophia was puzzled. She asked again, “So you’re only planning to wear a dress tomorrow night and

continue wearing men’s clothing afterward?”

“I’m not changing my usual style.”

Hayden just needed not put on fake pecs anymore.

However, she was flat-chested. Even if she wore a suit without fake pecs, she would still look like a

man.

Sophia said, “You’re already going to reveal your identity. Why do you insist on pretending to be a

man? It’ll be tiring.”

“It’s out of habit, Mom. I can’t change it after having done it for more than twenty years. You just have to

buy the stuff I need accordingly. I’ll arrange the rest myself. You don’t have to worry about me and

focus on Hugh instead.”novelbin

“Worrying about Hugh is useless. Alright. I’ll buy everything you need and also a few sets of casual

clothes to put in the closet. You can wear them whenever you want.”

Hayden hummed in agreement.

“That’s all. You should get off work now. I’m dining out with your dad. We haven’t gone shopping for a

long time. He complained that his legs were tired after covering only one row of shops and suggested

they continue after eating.”

Sophia hung up after speaking.

Donald asked, “Hay doesn’t want the clothes?”

The couple had picked out many clothes that suited their daughter’s cool personality.

“She said no, but we can just get them and put them in her closet. She can wear them if she’s in the

mood to surprise Kevin one day. Look how pretty the dress is. I’ve wanted to buy skirts and dresses for

our daughter for a long time, but she didn’t want any.”

Sophia found it a shame not to be able to dress Hayden up beautifully like a princess despite having a

daughter. She also regretted following Hayden’s wishes to pretend to be a boy, which lasted for over

two decades.

It had also caused some confusion in Sophia’s family. They thought she had given birth to twin boys

instead of fraternal twins.

Hayden did look more like a man than Hugh was.

“Let’s buy the clothes then. Why did you mention that I complained about being tired? Hay will think

that I’m useless. I’ll feel embarrassed in front of the children.”

Sophia replied, “Wasn’t I right? You never felt tired riding horses or playing golf with your friends, yet

you complained when shopping with me. Can’t I even tell Hayden about it?

“Do you hate shopping with me and wish to have prettier and younger women with you instead?”

Donald was speechless. “Okay, okay. I was wrong. I’m not tired. I can shop with you until you’re

satisfied. If I wanted younger women, I would’ve done it long ago. Did I do it? We’ve been married for

decades. I’ve never betrayed you.”

Old Mrs. York would not have chosen Hayden if their family reputation was terrible.

Of course, Hayden was an excellent child. That was why Old Mrs. York fancied her and wanted to bring

her and Kevin together.

Meanwhile, after Hayden ended her call with Sophia, Kevin asked, “What did you ask Mrs. Queen to

buy for you? You can just let me know. I’ll buy it for you.”

Hayden did not reveal anything. She simply said, “My parents are out shopping. I remembered that I

needed some supplies, so I asked Mom to help me. That way, my butler won’t have to make an extra

trip.”
