Chapter 2760

Duncan held Liberty’s hand with a burning gaze. He fell deeper in love with her as he noted her healthy

glow and confidence.

“Liberty.”

Duncan said with a husky voice. His head got closer to hers, and he asked, “I… I want to kiss you. May

I?”

Liberty was quiet, but her face turned red.

She was not a young girl anymore. She had gone through a marriage, divorce, and childbirth. However,

she could not stop herself from blushing upon hearing his question. She looked shy, which made her

even more irresistible to Duncan.

Despite having loved her for quite some time, he had only ever held her hand.

They did not do anything beyond that.

“Are you okay, Liberty?”

Duncan turned her head and forced her to face him. Their gazes met, and she could feel his hot breath

as he approached her.

Her shyness encouraged Duncan.

Since he did not get her answer, he brushed her lips with his lightly. When he saw her closing her eyes,

he hugged her tightly and deepened the kiss. The kissing gradually intensified.

After they pulled away from each other, Liberty quickly pushed him and walked away. She pretended to

be busy and said, “I’ll boil some water. What drink would you like?”

Her breath was uneven.

Duncan stared at her affectionately and followed her movement with his eyes. He replied gently, “I’ll

have tea. I don’t need to rest because I’ve rested enough during the flight. I can accompany you

wherever.”

“I already did everything I needed to in the morning. I’m planning to go to Fisher Manor later to visit the

family of the bodyguard who died in my place. He wouldn’t have died if he didn’t help to drive my car.”

Even if the car crash was Belinda’s scheme, it could only be classified as an accident for now as there

was insufficient evidence.

The bodyguard’s death had indeed been due to him driving Liberty’s car. If Liberty visited the

bodyguard’s family, she could avoid being criticized by others. The restless Fisher family members

would also be reassured.

Liberty had to show them that she was assertive and capable but also compassionate to win those

people over.

“I’ll go with you. I want to pay my respects to the deceased and visit his family too.”

If that bodyguard had not died instead of Liberty, Duncan would have been looking at her corpse.

He felt fear just by thinking of that possibility.

Luckily, Liberty was unharmed.

It was thanks to Kevin and Hayden crashing the banquet. Their presence had enabled Liberty to avoid

the accident.

Belinda would not have dared to target Kevin in her plots. Although she hated him just as much, Kevin

belonged to the York family. She did not want to confront him head-on.

The same could apply to Hayden. He was the head of the Queen family, a position in Jensburg that

was equivalent to Zachary’s in Wiltspoon.

The Fisher family had a downfall and lost its position as one of the prominent families in Jensburg. How

could they beat the Queens?novelbin

Liberty choosing to sit in Hayden’s car was a safe move.

That was how she escaped the accident.

Liberty initially wanted to refuse Duncan’s company. However, she changed her mind when she

recalled how he got upset when she did the same on the day she came to Jensburg. He said she was

avoiding him and made a fuss about it.

She replied, “You can come with me if you’re not tired.”

Duncan said, “I’m not. I sit in a wheelchair every day, and I rarely walk. How tired can I get?”

He was almost a useless person.
