Chapter 2714

Justin urged everyone to enter the house quickly.

The four siblings were concerned that Caroline might speak ill of them in front of their mother, so they

did not want to chat outside for too long and hurriedly entered the house.

After Caroline brought Liberty inside, everyone in the room looked at Liberty, finding her very familiar.

Belinda sat in the main seat without moving. The seats beside her were occupied by people of status

within the family.

“Liberty, you’re here.”

Belinda politely said, then instructed the butler, “Bring a chair for Ms. Hunt and let her sit.”

Liberty scanned the room. When the butler brought a small stool over, she sarcastically said to Belinda,

“If you’re not genuine in hosting a guest, there’s no need to put on a show. I came from afar, and you

deliberately sent someone to wait at Fortress Hotel for a long time, to extend the invitation. Yet, there

isn’t even a proper seat. Your hospitality is truly eye-opening.”

After saying this, Liberty turned and left, saying to her bodyguards, “Let’s go!”

“Liberty.”

Belinda stopped Liberty with a deep voice, saying, “Everyone in this room is older than you. They are

all your elders. You can’t let your elders give up their seats for you, right?

“A small stool has been provided for you here. Giving you a place to sit in this room is already showing

you considerable respect.”

No one else spoke; no one dared to speak.

They knew that the familiar woman was Liberty, who came from Wiltspoon. Once they guessed that,

they figured out Liberty’s lineage.

In terms of seniority, everyone in the room was Liberty’s senior.

However, Liberty was the direct descendant of the former matriarch. Following the order of succession

in the Fisher family’s rules, Liberty was the legitimate heir. In front of the rightful successor, they did notnovelbin

dare to act arrogantly even if they held higher seniority.

Belinda intended to use their status as elders to suppress Liberty.

The intention, of course, was to not let Liberty come back and contend for the matriarch position with

Caroline.

Liberty sneered and said, “I only know that I’m a guest, and the way Madam Fisher treats me is nothing

short of being inhospitable.

“Don’t talk to me about superiority. If it weren’t for my grandmother dying from a conspiracy or an

accident, even you, Madam Fisher, wouldn’t act so recklessly in front of me!”

Audrey told her that there were only three women of Tiara’s descendants. Serenity and Elisa had made

it clear that they had no intention of inheriting the position. Therefore, Liberty was the one who had to

succeed the Fisher family. She advised Liberty not to fear anyone in the Fisher family once she arrived

in Jensburg.

Carrying the identity of the legitimate successor, she openly confronted Belinda.

Belinda said with a sour expression, “My sister died in an accident, not due to conspiracy.”

“Only you and God could have possibly known how my grandmother died. You can lie to us however

you like, but you could never lie to God.”

“Mom.”

Caroline called out to her mother, “Mom, since you’ve invited Liberty as a guest, don’t do anything that

could tarnish your reputation. You should treat her with respect. Even if you don’t treat her as a guest,

she’s still my aunt’s descendant, you shouldn’t treat her like this.

“Otherwise, the others will say that you’re feeling guilty and afraid.”

Belinda’s expression darkened. “Caroline!”

Being lectured by her own daughter, Belinda felt enraged.

Caroline continued, “Did I say anything wrong, Mom? Our guest came from afar. If word got out that we

were uncourteous toward our guest, our entire family’s reputation would be affected.

“The more you try to make things difficult for Liberty, the more it makes people believe that the rumors

were true—that you were indeed guilty and paranoid.”
