Chapter 2692

The middle-aged man smiled and said, “My surname is Longbottom. Now, you've gotten to know me,

Ms. Carrie.”

His gaze was quite audacious. After Carrie approached, he shamelessly scrutinized her, finally

displaying a satisfied look at Carrie’s figure and appearance.

“Ms. Carrie, please have a seat. Let’s have a chat.”

“Mr. Longbottom, this is my home. Don’t act like you’re the master here. You have illegally entered. Do

you know that I can call the police on you at any time?”

He laughed. Not bad looking for a man in his forties or fifties, presenting the image of a suave middle-

aged man.

However, his gaze was overly audacious, and Carrie did not like the way his eyes roved over her, as if

scrutinizing prey.

“Yes, yes, it’s our mistake. Apologies to you.”

With that, Mr. Longbottom clapped his hands.

A bodyguard stepped forward and handed a new handbag to him.

Mr. Longbottom took the bag and then passed it to Carrie, saying with a sly smile, “Ms. Carrie, this is

my apology to you, just a small token. You should accept it, or else it means you might not forgive this

uninvited guest of yours.”

“I don’t need bags,” Carrie said arrogantly.

Did he think he could easily appease her with just any bag?novelbin

Even if it was Hermès.

“I know Ms. Carrie doesn’t lack bags, but you’re currently short of money.”

He stood and handed the bag to Carrie. “Ms. Carrie, accept the bag for now. Later, we can discuss our

partnership.”

“I have no money, no power, and no value right now. I don’t know what you want to partner with me on.

Don’t be like Mrs. Clark, claiming to cooperate with me but showing no sincerity. She threw a few

thousand dollars at me and disappeared. Do you think I’m a fool?”

Mr. Longbottom’s eyes flickered, and he asked with a smile, “Mrs. Clark? Who is she?”

“Just Mrs. Clark. Her husband’s surname is Clark, but I don’t know her full name. I don’t know her,

either. On the day I was released from prison, she came to pick me up, claiming that we had a common

enemy and wanted to ally with me. She wanted me to be the vanguard, but she didn’t give me any

money. I won’t work for free. Now I can’t contact her, I’m afraid she was trying to deceive me.”

Mr. Longbottom smiled. “I won’t deceive you. Our cooperation doesn’t require you to have money or

power.”

Carrie felt the bag Mr. Longbottom gave her was quite heavy. Upon opening it, she found it stuffed with

cash to the brim. No wonder it felt so weighty.

For someone nearly out of money to spend extravagantly, seeing the bag filled with money made

Carrie’s eyes light up.

“Ms. Carrie, the bag and the money inside are all for you, as an apology from me.”

After confirming that the money in the bag was indeed real, Carrie sat down on the single sofa while

holding the bag, and asked, “Mr. Longbottom, tell me, how do you want to cooperate with me? If you

want me to do something for you, what will you offer me?

“Let me clarify that I am the second daughter of the Newmans, a wealthy heiress. If Mr. Longbottom’s

offer is too low, I won’t partner with you.”

Mr. Longbottom chuckled. “I’m offering you a small villa, a new car, and a monthly allowance of three

hundred thousand, which equals ten thousand per day. During special occasions, there will be

bonuses, and if I’m in a good mood, I might give you extra rewards.

“Once the task is completed, I’ll reward you thirty million dollars.”

Upon hearing the initial conditions, Carrie felt as if he was trying to keep her as a mistress. It was not

until the latter statement that she felt Mr. Longbottom genuinely had something for her to do.

“What do you want me to do for you?”

“The task I have for you isn’t urgent; I’ll tell you later. It might take several years, even a decade, to

complete. Of course, if you can finish it within a year, that would be terrific.”

Mr. Longbottom continued speaking and then a bodyguard approached, handing something to him.

“This is a human skin mask. Ms. Carrie, would you prefer to disguise yourself with this or go under the

knife? If you opt for plastic surgery, I’ll cover every penny. You won’t have to spend a dime, and I

guarantee the transformation will have even your mother unable to recognize you.”
