Chapter 2609

“Get as much as you can,” Carrie requested.

“I don’t have much money on me right now, I’m a brokie.”

Trenton replied, “You could find a job, Carrie. As long as you’re willing to work, any job will do. It won’t

starve you. Only the lazy ones starve to death.”

Carrie said with an angry expression, “Why should I find a job? I'm Ms. Carrie of the prestigious

Newman family. My parents never wanted me to work. They said I was born to be an heiress and enjoy

a life of luxury.

“If it weren’t for Camryn freezing my cards, would I be in this situation, needing a lecture from you?”

Trenton's expression turned grim and said, “Carrie, I’m not lecturing you; I’m just telling you that things

are different now. We need to rely on our efforts to earn a living. If you’re capable, even if Cam freezes

your cards, you won’t be afraid.

“It’s because you lack capabilities that you’re obstructed in so many ways.”

“Okay, okay, just give me some money. I know you lean toward that mole rat. She and you have

different fathers. I’m your sister by blood, and I don’t know what kind of spell she casts on you to make

you stand on her side like this.

“She’s going to take over our family assets, and you’re still on her side. You’re simply a fool. Oh,

because she didn’t freeze your bank cards, you think she’s good to you? Let me tell you, she’s just

buttering you up.

“When she takes over our family assets completely, she’ll definitely kick you out. Then, you’ll have

nowhere to cry.”

Carrie just could not understand why her biological brother would not stand with her but sided withnovelbin

Camryn.

“Camryn is absolutely not that kind of person.”

Angered by Carrie, Trenton said, “If you keep doubting Camryn, I won’t give you any money. If you

don’t want to starve, then go find a job and sustain yourself.”

He would usually work a part-time job when he had free time, just to earn some pocket money even

though he already had plenty of money.

He was a firm believer in self-reliance.

“Alright, alright, I won’t say more.”

Carrie decided to stop ranting to coax Trenton into getting her some money.

Trenton was fully aware that Carrie was just trying to pacify him. After all, she was his full sister. He

also understood that she had been overly pampered by their parents, resulting in a spoiled and

arrogant attitude with little ability to back it all up. Although she had some modest assets under her

name, with her bank card frozen, she could not access any of her money.

In the end, Trenton complied and went to get some money for Carrie.

Callum heard footsteps approaching while in the kitchen and stepped out, only to find his brother-in-law

coming. He asked, “Who was that visitor, Trenton?”

“It’s Carrie. Camryn froze her bank card, and she came here to look for a fight. She scurried off once

she heard that you’re here.”

Trenton was not entirely truthful.

Indeed, Carrie was afraid of Callum, but she did not leave.

Callum’s eyes flickered, saying, “Oh, her. Just ignore her.”

As he finished his sentence, he resumed his tasks in the kitchen.

Trenton noticed that Callum did not doubt his words and breathed a sigh of relief. However, he felt a

little guilty for deceiving his brother-in-law.

He quickly went upstairs.

Once he entered his room, he grabbed his wallet and only found a little over a thousand dollars in cash.

He usually used Apple Pay for his spending and the bank account linked to it was the bank account

that Camryn used to deposit his monthly allowance through the company.
