Quinn said to Will, “If you dare to drink, Mom will sell all the fine wine we have at home.”
Quinn enjoyed drinking as well, but her tolerance was rather low. Her mother did not allow her to drink,novelbin
emphasizing that she was a girl and that her poor alcohol tolerance could lead to accidents.
Will chuckled and whispered, “That’s why we need to keep Julian at home. He’s a guest and he brings
us suppers. In return, we can share a drink or two without getting too drunk. This way, it won’t affect our
work the next day, and Mom won’t complain.”
It was an ordeal for an alcohol enthusiast to resist drinking.
Will thought of the last incident with Julian. When Julian came over, everyone in the house drank with
him except Quinn.
They had to use Julian as an excuse to satisfy their craving for alcohol. After all, the Crawford men
could not overrule the lady of the house, their mother Zoey.
Julian laughed and said, “During my stay here, if you feel like having supper, just let me know and I’ll
bring it back for you. As for alcohol, you can have a drink or two but don’t overdo it. Your mother was
right about not allowing you to drink too much; it’s for your own health.”
Julian wanted to please his future brother-in-law but could not risk upsetting his future mother-in-law
either
Between the two, Julian was definitely on his mother-in-law’s side.
Will said, “We won’t drink every day, only have a bit when we crave it. Mom’s here, let’s change the
topic.”
Hearing the familiar sounds of Zoey’s footsteps, Will reminded Quinn and Julian not to continue
discussing alcohol. They would not want to risk her overhearing and giving them an earful.
Julian fetched his luggage, went in with the Crawford siblings, and met Zoey. Julian politely greeted
her, “Mrs. Crawford, I’m here to disturb you again.”
Zoey warmly welcomed him inside, saying, “It’s no bother at all! Quick, come in and wash your hands
so we can eat. Quinn mentioned you wanted to taste my cooking, so I’ve got them all ready.”
The fact that someone looked forward to eating her homemade dishes, even from afar in Wiltspoon,
made Zoey feel accomplished. Even just visiting for business, they longed to eat her food again and
again.
Unlike her children, who always complained that she made the same few dishes every day. They
should attempt to prepare a full-course meal themselves rather than simply complaining.
A person whose whole life was surrounded by love and harmony would only take it for granted.
Dave sat at the tea table in the room and had brewed a pot of tea. He poured half a cup for Julian when
he saw him entering.
“Julian, come have a cup of tea.”
Julian set down his luggage and took a seat directly across from Dave. He exchanged greetings as
Dave placed the cup of tea in front of him.
Julian thanked him and sipped the tea gracefully.
The first time he saw Julian’s tea etiquette, Dave knew that this young man had a wealthy upbringing.
Later, he learned from his daughter that Julian was the CEO of a huge conglomerate in Wiltspoon and
that he had close ties with the head of York Corporation, engaging with numerous business
collaborations as a significant figure in the business world.
He was indeed a young man with so much promise.
He had good looks and treated others with respect and manners.
To top it all off, he was good at martial arts.
For a while, Dave had his suspicions when Julian concealed his martial arts prowess and expressed
the desire to learn at Power Fitness. His daughter mentioned that Julian only wanted to show gratitude,
so he did not dwell on it.
Seeing his daughter interact with Julian like buddies, Dave did not give it further thought.
