Chapter 2530

Caroline let others leave because most of the work she had to handle during overtime was related to

her own company, and her secretary at Fisher Enterprise could not assist her with it.

It was quiet outside.

While some departments in the company were still working late, the floor her office was on seemed

deserted.

She left her office, walked through the open-plan office area, and headed for the elevator.

At the elevator bay, she noticed a man leaning against the wall, holding a bouquet of flowers. When he

saw her approaching, he smiled.

Caroline had seen him somewhere.

He was the guy Hunter introduced to her as a potential romantic partner. He was a wealthy heir named

Marcus Wright.

When Caroline's father was trying to arrange a marriage for her, she had her secretary, Mr. Fletcher

investigate Marcus thoroughly and uncover his womanizing lifestyle.

It was incredible that Hunter introduced her to Marcus, someone who only knew a life of debauchery.

Belinda was on her side to refuse the potential partner, thus preventing Hunter from arranging a date

with Marcus.

However, Hunter, who treated Caroline as if she were not his own, still tried to arrange a meeting

between her and Marcus.

“Caroline.”

Marcus straightened up holding a bouquet of flowers, walked over, and smiled as he offered the flowers

to her. “Are you finished with work? I know you’ve been working late at the office. I bought these

flowers and waited for you. How about I treat you to some late-night snacks?”

With a cold expression, she pushed away the bouquet of flowers with one hand. She then firmly

declined, “Thank you for your kind offer, Marcus, but I already have plans.”

She continued walking past Marcus.

“Caroline.”

Marcus reached out to grab her, but she evaded him. He hurriedly ran in front of her, opened his arms,

and blocked her path.

His gaze traveled boldly from her face down.

Hunter was satisfied with him and instructed him to find a way to win over Caroline. If he could achieve

that, he would become the son-in-law of the Fisher family.

While many men might look down on the idea of becoming a live-in son-in-law, it was ideal for those

without much ability and who had little interest in ordinary girls.

As long as he married Caroline and had a daughter with her, would the Fisher family not belong to his

daughter?

All he had to do was to love his daughter, treat her well, and build a strong bond with her. When his

daughter ascended to power and showed filial devotion to him, he would effectively control the Fisher

family.

Among the major prestigious families in Jensburg, although being close to the last, the Fishers still

belonged to the upper echelon. They were genuinely wealthy, and their centuries-old legacy set them

apart from the nouveau riche.

Marcus understood the Wright family’s current situation.

He had no particular skills, but he yearned to continue enjoying a lavish life. The best way forward was

to become Caroline’s husband.

Hunter told him that Caroline had grown up in the countryside, where her foster parents treated her

poorly. This upbringing had shaped her into a timid and fragile individual. He believed that if Marcus

could make Caroline fall in love with him, he would effectively become the hidden head of the Fisher

family, enjoying endless wealth and luxury.

Hunter also added that when it came to dealing with women, the key was to seduce them. He believed

that once a man had become intimate with a woman, she would not easily escape the man’s graspnovelbin

even if she was a proud and headstrong individual.

Being Caroline’s biological father, Hunter offering this advice to Marcus showed he had little to no

intention of treating Caroline nicely.

Caroline had returned to the Fisher family for about two years now, and people outside knew what kind

of life she was leading there.

Marcus believed that Caroline was a weak and easily manipulated woman.
