Callum could finally spend some quality time with Camryn.
He held the presents in one hand while holding Camryn’s hand in the other. He only dared to start
complaining after they had walked a distance away.
Camryn said, “I think you’re enjoying yourself though.”
She took her phone out and withdrew her hand from Callum’s. “My phone kept ringing just now. I don’t
know who’s been sending me so many messages. I didn’t look at them because I was talking to Mom.”
She opened WhatsApp. The messages were from her butler.
It was a bunch of pictures and videos.
After scrolling through them, Camryn told Callum, “I knew Carrie would look for the Joyners and
Chandlers to help her, but the new number doesn’t belong to my aunts.
“After investigating, we found the number was registered to a certain last name Gordon. I can’t think of
anyone I know with that name. I asked Dal about this. He said no one in Newman Enterprise has that
surname. None of Uncle Cain’s previous connections went by Gordon either.
“Since Carrie dialed that number, there must be some relation between them. I just don’t know
Gordon’s identity. Carrie contacted that person as soon as she was released from prison. Callum, do
you think anyone from my mom’s illegal organization evaded capture?
“They could be using Carrie to rally their forces and exact their vengeance.”
Callum took Camryn’s phone. After looking through the media, he said, “Let’s keep an eye on this for
now. Carrie isn’t someone to be feared. She’s young and she isn’t particularly good at scheming. If
someone’s trying to use her, she’ll expose some flaws sooner or later. As long as we keep a close eye
on her, we’ll find out who Gordon is soon enough.
“If they’re indeed Paige’s underlings regrouping to make a comeback, then you don’t have to worry
about a thing. We can take this opportunity to apprehend all of them.
“As far as I know, a large police force was mobilized at that time and those underlings whose faces
were identified have been caught. The ones who escaped are being hunted down now. I doubt they’ll
have the guts to return to Wiltspoon.
“If you’re worried, I’ll talk to Zachary after dinner. He could ask for Julian’s help to investigate this.”
Callum consoled Camryn, “Don’t worry. If Carrie dares to dabble in illegal activities like her mom, we’ll
send her to prison again and let the mother and daughter reunite.”

If Carrie stayed and roamed free, she would keep targeting Camryn. Her attacks may be immature, but
Camryn’s mood would be affected.
After a short silence, Camryn said, “Based on my understanding of Carrie, she won’t try anything for
now. She was spoiled by her parents back then and thought they could cover up every bad thing she
had done.
“To her, money is the solution to everything. With her parents serving a heavy sentence, no one can
support or spoil her anymore. The worst she can do is launch verbal attacks, but she won’t attempt
anything extreme.
“My aunts might instigate Carrie to fight me over the family inheritance and company. With their current
living conditions, they must hold a lot of resentment toward me. They don’t stand a chance against me,
but Carrie’s early release gave them hope.
“Because Carrie indeed has a right to the Newman family’s assets.”
Camryn suddenly chuckled. “I wonder what tricks they have up their sleeves.”
After many years of tolerating them, she finally brought Paige and Cain down and sought justice for her
dad.

Camryn laughed. “I think you view Dal more as a love rival than a brother. I’ve told you many times that
Dal and I are just like siblings.”
Callum thought, ‘Dalton had a crush on you before. He simply wasn’t bold enough to confess and
chose to bury his feelings deep within his heart.”
