Chapter 2509

Zachary declined without a second thought and said, “I’ll walk behind them and watch Serenity. If she’s

tired from walking, I can carry her back.”novelbin

Callum said, “Zack, you spoil your wife too much. You’re setting the bar too high for us men!”

Serenity was athletic. Although she was pregnant, her belly was not showing yet. She no longer

suffered from morning sickness, so she would have no problem walking a short distance. Why would

Zachary need to carry Serenity?

Zachary said innocently, “I’m just doing what I can for my wife. I’m not competing with any of you.”

Callum was momentarily speechless. He smiled and said, “Yes, yes. You’re not trying to be the best at

anything. You’re just setting an example for the rest of us, and we should all learn from you. If you’re

not getting in, then I’ll go ahead.”

Seeing that Zachary refused his offer, Callum drove away by himself.

He caught up with the ladies in front, slowed down, and honked at them.

Rosella turned around to see her son and glared at him. “Why are you honking? It’s so loud. Don’t

scare my daughter-in-law!”

“Mom.”

Callum smiled flatteringly and said, “Would you ladies like to get in the car? Camryn bought a lot of

things for you guys, and I can’t carry them all. So I might as well drive to the door.”

“Go ahead, then. Leave us alone. We’ll walk slowly and chat while enjoying the scenery.”

Wildridge Manor was scenic all year round.

This was not Camryn’s first visit, but in the past, she could not see. Back then, Callum brought her

around and described the manor’s surroundings to her.

After regaining her eyesight, Camryn could only see things clearly up close while those further away

still looked blurry.

With a lazy stroll, Camryn could enjoy the beautiful scenery of the entire manor.

Callum looked at his fiancée, who smiled back at him. He drove away with a smile too, fearing that his

mother would scold him for disturbing their chat if he delayed any further.

Rosella accused Callum of scaring Camryn by honking.

Callum would not scare his beloved Camryn. Besides, she was not so easily startled.

“Camryn, this is your home too, so you can come back whenever you want. You don’t have to buy so

many things for us. We don’t lack anything. We’re happy as long as you guys visit us on the weekends.

That’s better than any gift.

“We’re old and don’t like to go out. But staying in the manor every day can get quite boring. At most,

we’ll play cards to relieve our boredom.”

When Serenity heard this, she smiled sheepishly while covering her mouth.

She knew the York elders were living a wonderful retirement life.

Camryn said warmly, “Mom, if you don’t mind us disturbing you, Callum and I will come back on

weekends in the future.”

“Of course, I don’t mind! You’re still young, so you don’t understand the loneliness of us old people.

When we get old, we look forward to having children and grandchildren in our house. We hope they

can always accompany us.”

“Mom, you’re not old at all.”

The women in the York family all looked like they were in their thirties.

After Camryn regained her eyesight and saw Rosella for the first time, she marveled at Rosella’s

youthful skin. If they stood together, they would be mistaken for sisters.

Serenity chuckled on the side. “Camryn, you missed Aunt Rosella’s main point—she’s hinting that she

wants grandchildren!”

Camryn blushed and said honestly, “Callum and I can get married at any time, but it’ll probably take a

few years before we can have children.”

“Do you guys have any difficulties?”
