Chapter 2505

After a moment of silence, Carrie told her aunts, “Aunt Amy, Aunt Brenda, since I have nowhere to go

now, I’ll have dinner here. When my cousins return, I’ll ask them to head to the villa with me and deal

with Camryn’s guard dogs. I won’t forget to repay you if I can get in.”

“Sure, wait here and they can go with you after their work.”

Upon hearing that Carrie would be generous to them, Amy and Brenda hosted Carrie with much

enthusiasm.

“What do you want to eat tonight, Carrie? Let me know. I’ll get the ingredients and cook for you. Don’t

expect too much though. My cooking skills are average at best.”

Although the Newmans were not rich initially, they were not that poor either. Amy and Brenda had

never experienced hardships or poverty since birth. Even after growing up, they chose husbands with

statuses similar to the Newmans.

While they were not filthy rich, they lived a comfortable life and owned a few factories, so they were

financially well-off compared to ordinary people.

That also meant they had servants cooking for them, which explained their subpar skills in cooking as

they need not be hands-on in preparing their meals. Even with their occasional cooking, their food was

barely edible. Now that they were penniless, Amy and Brenda had to cook three meals for their families

daily. That was how their cooking had improved.

They knew Carrie was picky and feared she would not be used to the food.

To them, Carrie was a demanding person. However, Cain and Paige doted on her a lot, so they had to

please her despite being her aunts.

Since they were counting on her to regain the Newman family’s assets, they had to gain Carrie’s favor

even more. That way, the Joyner and Chandler families could make a comeback.

Cain was sentenced to over ten years of imprisonment, while Paige was for life. Carrie was only in her

twenties, and Trenton was still in university; both of them were gullible. As long as the Joyners and

Chandlers got into Carrie’s good books, they could resume working at Newman Enterprise and then

seize control of the company. That way, they would not be forced out of the company by someone like

Camryn again.

Carrie said, “Aunt Amy, Aunt Brenda, I’ve changed. Do you think I lived a better life than this in prison?

Would I have been eating better food? I no longer complain so long as there’s food on the table now.”

She would starve herself often during her early days in prison but eventually succumbed to hunger and

got used to the food there.

When she was in extreme hunger back then, she had the urge to gobble Camryn up. If it were not for

Camryn, she would not have been in prison in the first place.

Brenda said, “You’ve been through a lot, Carrie. It’ll get better now that you’re out. Let’s be cautious in

whatever we do from now on and not let them have dirt on us. Your parents… Haih.”

Amy sighed too.

They would not have been that miserable if Cain had not gone to jail.

Amy and Brenda were treated badly by their in-laws after losing the Newman family’s support. Luckily,

their children were all grown up. Otherwise, their in-laws would have chased them out for dragging the

Joyners and Chandlers down.novelbin

Recalling their in-laws’ attitudes, Amy and Brenda were furious. The Joyners and Chandlers used to

reap many benefits from the Newmans. However, once that was all gone, their in-laws put all the blame

on them.

It was great that Carrie was released from prison because she stood a chance against Camryn in the

fight over inheritance, whereas they never did since they married into other families.
