Hayden pursed her lips and said, “Next year is far away. Things don’t always go as planned.”
Quinn smiled. “That’s true. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. Nothing ever goes as planned.
“Do you mind if we walk together, Mr. Queen?”
Hayden thought about it and declined Quinn.
She was blunt. “Everybody sees me as Kevin’s rumored boyfriend, and you’re Mr. Bucham’s guest. It
might not look good on you to walk with me.”
Quinn was not expecting Hayden to say such a thing. She replied with a smile, “I won’t insist then, Mr.
Queen. You’re not what I thought you’d be, Mr. Queen.”
“Were you surprised that I admitted I am Kevin’s rumored boyfriend?”
Quinn nodded her head. “Yes.”novelbin
Hayden smiled and said, “From the moment Kevin pursued me, people started seeing us together. The
public has seen how relentless he was in his pursuit. I can give that to him.”
“Mr. Queen, have you accepted Kevin as your boyfriend?”
Seeing that Hayden owned up to reality without running away or getting angry, Quinn boldly and nosily
asked the question.
Without looking at Quinn, Hayden looked ahead in silence for a while and replied, “I’ll admit that I
started to have feelings.”
Quinn responded, “But the world isn’t completely ready for change.”
“It’s between me and him. All that matters is that we’re happy. Who cares what other people think?”
Besides, Hayden was not a man. As Kevin once put it, she was still a woman even though she had
been in a man’s disguise for over two decades.
“That’s true. Our happiness is the most important. If your parents are happy to accept your relationship,
who cares what other people think? The elders of the Yorks are pretty open-minded. I have heard
about it too.
“They are welcoming to you. They don’t mind your gender, and they don't try to break you apart.”
Hayden smiled and admitted, “That’s right. They’re open-minded. They’re nice and welcoming like I’m
their daughter-in-law already.
“My parents see Kevin as their son-in-law too.”
Quinn interpreted it as Hayden taking the receptive role in his relationship with Kevin.
It was worth the trip. Quinn had collected a lot of materials to write a novel.
However, it was a shame that she could not write. She usually read fantasy novels instead of romance
novels. She did not like the clingy and lovey-dovey scenes.
“Hayden.”
Hugh approached from afar and called after Hayden.
Hayden turned to her brother, wiped the faint smile, and put on a stern look.
“Why are you here, Hayden?”
Hugh came over and politely nodded at Quinn.
Quinn smiled at him and said to Hayden, “I should go, Mr. Queen.”
Hayden gave a nod and Quinn took off.
Once she was gone, Hugh asked, “Who is that woman? I’ve never seen her before. She’s attractive.”
