Chapter 2259

That lady immediately stood in front of Liberty to block the drunkard’s sight. Then, she pretended to

chat with Liberty and asked, “The child’s dad is coming back soon, right?”

Liberty replied, “Yes.”

Hank would be discharged soon and he would be going home, but not to her place. They had been

divorced for a year after all.

The lady teased Sonny, “Do you miss your dad?”

He replied honestly, “I do. My mom brought me to visit Dad last weekend.”

The lady smiled, “Oh, you went to visit your dad.”

Sonny nodded vigorously.

Liberty knew the lady was doing it on purpose to let the drunkard know she had a man in her house

who was about to return from a business trip and not to think about doing anything to her.

The drunkard did not say anything upon hearing that.

The elevator doors opened when it reached the first floor. The lady quickly pulled Liberty and Sonny

out.

The drunkard remained where he stood. When Liberty walked past, he whispered, “I looked for you all

night. I know you’re divorced.”

Liberty’s expression changed.

She was already the drunk man’s target.

Duncan’s bodyguard had escorted her upstairs last night. However, she exited the elevator before she

reached her floor because of the drunkard.

She did not expect him to be looking for her all night. He must have been trying to find out which floor

she lived on.

He even knew she was divorced.

Liberty lifted Sonny and swiftly walked out of the apartment building.

East Hill Apartments had been a safe neighborhood. The residents had never experienced any cases

of robbery or burglary.

The drunkard had probably been a normal man before his relationship ended.

He still had not done anything to Liberty, but he likely targeted her because she was divorced and

single.

Liberty was shaken up.

On the way to the preschool, Liberty recalled Duncan’s advice from last night.

Would she have to consider accepting the house Zachary and Serenity offered her?

Such incidents probably would not occur if she moved to The Oasis, right?

“Mom.”

Sonny, who was sitting in the child safety seat, suddenly asked, “Mom, that mister said he was looking

for you all night. Do you know him? He smells heavily of alcohol.”novelbin

Sonny disliked the smell of alcohol.

Uncle Zak, Dunc, and Uncle Jul had always smelled fresh. There was rarely the smell of alcohol or

cigarettes on them.

“I don’t know him. He was drunk.”

“He looks at you like how Dunc does.”

Liberty was speechless.

Sonny was clever.

Although he could not understand the drunkard’s words, he could feel the man’s burning gaze directed

at his mom.

It was just like how Dunc looked at Mom.

“Do you want to move houses, Sonny?”

“My home is wherever you are, Mom. Do you want to move?”
